Alibaba has set ambitious goals in the field of artificial intelligence, and Nvidia chips will be the key to autonomous driving solutions. Alibaba’s cloud services division has teamed up with a leading chipmaker to create an improved autonomous driving system for software-defined vehicles from Li Auto, Great Wall Motor, Zeekr, and Xiaomi.

According to SCMP, Alibaba Cloud demonstrated a large multimodal model (LMM) solution for automotive applications at the Apsara conference, co-developed with smart cockpit solution provider Banma Network Technology and Nvidia.

Alibaba Cloud has integrated Qwen’s proprietary large language model (LLM) portfolio with Nvidia’s Drive AGX Orin platform for autonomous vehicles. The new LMM solution will enable voice assistants in smart cars to make recommendations and execute voice commands.

Last week, Alibaba presented 100 open-source AI models to attendees at the Aspara Conference, covering areas ranging from automotive to scientific research.
