IM Motors introduced a line of L6 electric sedans in May this year, which included a premium version with a unique battery. The model, priced at about $ 49,000, has a 900 V semi-solid-state battery called Lightyear, which supports ultra-fast charging.

The Lightyear battery provides an estimated range of up to 1,000 km on the CLTC cycle in a two-motor all-wheel drive version. In addition, the battery supports a peak charging rate of 400 kW, which allows the car to add 400 km of range in about 12 minutes. The battery, developed by Suzhou Qingdao New Energy Technology, is also equipped with overheating protection, which improves overall safety.

By the way, the L6 Max Lightyear Edition sedan recently appeared on the official list of approved vehicles of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China (MIIT), therefore, its entry into the local market is not far off.
