The engine was rebuilt 2 years ago. The work included fitting a brand new counterbalance crankshaft to replace the original which was bent.

There was enough of the original babbitt remaining in the block to get proper clearance and still have enough shims fitted for several future adjustments if ever needed. Re-babbitted rods were also fitted to proper clearance. Also the engine has new aluminum pistons, rings, valves and springs. All wiring is new, and it is also fitted with a rebuilt starter, generator and electronic voltage regulator. Also fitted were new vaives and springs. Transmission was completely dis-assembled and checked out. Everything within specifications, except of course the bands which are re-lined with kevlar. The car also has new tires that are on Firestone 6 lug wheels, which have been re-spoked. When I wired it a brake light was added. The car has been driven to several antique auto events, and have always driven it where I go. Never on a trailer! The body is very solid, and I know of no rust. The doors are warped, but they do both close and latch. I have probably driven it 400 to 500 miles and it has been totally dependable and ready to start it up and drive away.
When I was 15 about 55 years ago, I enquired about 3 Model T's in a shop behind a trailer park we were spending the summer at. The owner told me that If I could get one running I could drive it. That night when he returned It was ready to start, and it did. I did get to drive it a short distance. For years while restoring many motorcycles and a few cars, I have always remembered that and finally went to look for a car to rebuild and drive. I am happy that found this car and mechanically restored it to fulfill the dream I have had for years. Am very active in motorcycle and sports car activities so this car is not getting the use it deserves.
