1930 Phantom II Barker Sedanca de Ville. Chassis number 65GYRegistration number VWL770A beautiful Phantom II Sedanca de Ville. The car is in excellent mechanical condition having had completed major recent engine works by The Priory Vintage Car Co. The engine on this car has been completely rebuilt to a very high standard. Thus it starts instantly runs in complete silence with nothing more than a slight intake hiss from the carburettor. The engine is powerful tractable pulling strongly in top gear from the lowest revs. The oil pressure reads off the scale to start then settles down to a very. very healthy 28PSI when completely hot. The water temperature remains between 70 80 degrees with the manually operated shutters being fully open. Likewise the one shot lubrication system is intact functioning well. The condition of the car makes it a good candidate for the preservation class in any show. The blue burgundy paintwork is clearly very old. whilst being very serviceable presentable does have some age related cracking crazing. Gold hand lined pinstripes accent the paintwork extend down each of the individual louvres down the bonnet. The roof is of Japanned leather. again in good order. The Sedanca top is an absolute pleasure to use with the mechanisms folding arms being finger light to operate absoluteley precise. attesting to the level of quality imbued in the car by the craftsmen at Barkers. To the rear is black leather seating grey headlining with royal blue carpets. Twin occasional seats fold out from the bulkhead.

The car has its original vanity mirrors in the alcoves with working lamps in both of them. The roof has its original hat nets in place. All privacy blinds are also extant fully functional. The front seat is also black leather in good condition. A yellow tinted division extends from the bulkhead to afford privacy from the tradesmans quarters up front. The car is fitted with black painted Stephen Grebel lamps allied to the Barker patent dipping system. The combination of black lamps dark blue bonnet give the car an air of vintage gravitas when viewed from the front. A single spot lamp. also painted black. sits under the two head lamps. Twin semaphores (both fully functional) extend from the windshield pillars. Tool trays are recessed into both running boards. twin side-mount spares are fitted to the running boards. Vast amounts have been spent upon the engine mechanics of this car to put it in tip top condition. Indeed potential purchasers would be well advised to have smelling salts at hand when viewing the bills. The radiator was recently re-cored a Tim Payne overdrive fitted for relaxed high speed cruising. The car will be sold freshly serviced by Priory Vintage. I have to stress how beautifully this car drives. easily running at 70 MPH amongst modern traffic. It is a lovely. imposing car that turns heads wherever it goes is in a really. really useable condition given that it has had a recent full engine rebuild.
