Seller description
This Harley was made during WWII. Because of the countries manufacturing focus the world war, most of all production went into class “M” Military motorcycles while an extremely very few went into the “G” Government models. In 1944 only6government Trikes were made per the HD Museum. This is the only 1 of 2 known 1944 to have survived the years. These Servi-Cars were highly sought after by auto dealerships or hardware stores for delivery vehicles. They then drove them into their grave, thus making serving Servi-cars rarer due to their very low production and higher use attrition rate over motorcycles. Many years ago while researching the correct paint color from the HD Museum they speculated only 2 only 1944 models were likely to survive, but they could not verify that.

Many years ago this Harley was driven into my dealership HD Dealership and I fell in love with it. I had my techs drain the fluids and have kept this rare survivor indoors on display. Two years ago I sold my dealership and I kept my favorites. Since then my thinking has changed, I hate seeing this likely 1 of a kind restored gem in my warehouse collecting dust. This Vintage Trike should be driven or seen by more people again and that’s why I’m selling it.A little history. Servi-Cars is an abbreviation for Service Car. Most units were driven by Policemen or Meter-Maids. These units had the throttle grip on the reverse handle and the shift knob was also reversed on the right. This allowed the drivers right hand to be free to use a Policeman’s service revolver while driving back then. Also, Meter-Maids would use a long stick with chalk on the end to mark the visible bottom side of car tires parked in town. Later on per the parking zone time restrictions, she would drive around the block to see if any cars still had not moved to ticket them. This unit is sold as is. I verify it was driven into my HD dealership in Manitowoc, WI. As used as a museum the fluids were drained so they need to be replenished, a battery and due to long storage maybe a new gas float. Amazingly after a decade of drained oil it still marks it territory with oil spots. Over the years I cannot verify the miles on it. I think a logical person would say this is not the actual mileage. This unit has been refurbished with new seat covering, tires, original factory spec’d paint and motor rebuilt. This unit is kept in Green Bay, WI with ground level or semi-truck loading available. A shipper I have used and liked as a dealer is JC Motors Shipping 1-[hidden information].Please email me with further questions atdave2wi@gmail.com. I would be glad to show it to a serious potential buyer. If you’re a reseller, please buzz off.
