1946 Indian Chief - Seafoam Blue - 78 on NOS Speedo - Older Restoration - 346 Clubman
Late 1946 Indian Chief, we restored this Indian back in 1982, and put 78 miles on it!! We did this Indian for our own display bike for us (we added a lot of NOS parts), and as a plain Jane Clubman model with no accessories to show the customers that you didn't have to chrome everything or put a bunch of accessories on it!! All sheet metal is original! Original tank emblems and screws. And a lot of New Old Stock genuine Indian parts or next to NOS parts!! NOS Speedometer, Ammeter, Ignition Switch, Horn, Motolamp Headlight, Dimmer Switch, Jiffy Stand, Centerstand, and a lot more!! The only reproduction parts I can think of are all the rubber parts, gas and oil caps, petcocks, seat, exhaust system. Correct M-344 Carburator, fender light, forks (with no grease fittings), etc. #CDF6202 - Matching Numbers.
I put gas in it, fresh oil, hooked a battery up....the Indian started right up! Sounds good and all lights, horn and generator work like they're supposed to! This Indian has spent all of its time since 1982 in our show room, a few museums, and displays. The only negative thing: there are some nicks and scratches in the paint (this is even painted in straight enamel like the factory used!!).

We even cadmium plated the wheels to show people you didn't have to chrome them!
