Seller Description

1947 Buick 4 door sedan, Straight 8, Staff car, number 47-194.I purchased this vehicle in 2010 from the property "Willapunga" via Wee Waa, NSW. The previous owner stated he had retrieved the vehicle from a garage in Coonabarabran, NSW. He stated he had started the engine and the vehicle would run. I have never attempted to start the vehicle but the motor does turn over by hand. After obtaining this vehicle I placed it in my garage where it has remained undercover and out of the weather since. I cleaned the vehicle and put it in storage until now..The engine is complete and is a straight 8 petrol engine. The interior is complete but tatty and appears to be all there. There is rust in the boot area and also dents on the drivers side rear wheel well. The drivers side spat is also missing. Column shift 3 speed manual gearbox..The bonnet can be opened from either side via the chrome release handles or removed totally. This vehicle has also had an unusual "high rise" type steering column adapter placed onto the steering column. The speedometer has also been removed from it's original housing and placed higher up. I can only assume this modification was done to comfort a taller driver..This car has a wonderful patina and was originally grey. All chrome work is still bright and the art deco interior appears to be intact including the clock in the glove box lid. As a post war car this vehicle would have been a sight to behold on Australia roads. I have spoken to people who have owned and driven this model car and they say the comfort of the ride on rough roads was exceptional..This vehicle would make a great restoration, rat rod project or lead sled. There appears to be no visible rust in the doors or visible body and that would be representative of its life in storage.

.Please note: The pictures form part of the description so please study them carefully. Payment is via Paypal and local pick up only. There is no warranty whether implied or inferred on this vehicle and no returns accepted. The number plates shown at this stage do not come with the vehicle..I may be able to offer low cost transport of the vehicle to the successful bidders location at a cost to the buyer..
