1948 Harley Davidson WL 45 Flathead.

This bike was a one owner motorcycle up until 2 years ago, it is unrestored, has original paint and I have a copy of the original 1948 title. The bike was parked in 1968. The original exhaust, tires and saddlebags rotted off the bike, the tires were replace with Carlisle tires, ironically this bike was sold new in Carlisle, Pa. The kick stand and battery box were also replaced but I have the originals (check out the original Harley battery and the condition of the original kick stand from sitting in dirt for 50 years). The saddlebags were replaced with the ones on the bike using the original mounts. The chain guard is missing, everything else is there. The motor kicks over but I have never tried to start it. The fill neck on the transmission is broken but I have another tranny case that can be used to graft onto the original filler neck. This bike is a perfect candidate to do a crustoration or mechanical rebuild, leaving the original patina. Finding a 72 year old, original paint, barn find Harley, with owner history since new, is becoming extremely hard to find. I do have a clean title in my name. Sold as is, shipping is up to the buyer.
