Seller Description

This 1951 EL Panhead is
an authentic, vintage, Harley Davidson Chopper. It also has many
period correct "chopper era" parts***Please read Item Condition***
as this contains many other specifics about this bike. Pictures are part of
item description. Let me know if you need to see anything
specifically.PayPal for deposit ONLY ....CASH or bank
transfer for balance....Clean and clear transferableRegistration in my
name. NY does not re-title pre-'70 vehicles. (I had the
original title when I bought this bike and had to give it to NYS DMV to put it
on the road...this acts JUST THE SAME AS A TITLE.) NO funny business with me.
With that said, please look into exactly what you will need in YOUR STATE to
register this motorcycle. If for any reason you are not comfortable, please do
not bid. To my understanding a transferable registration and bill of sale has
always worked for me and people I have sold to in many states. The pictures you see are CURRENT. Please view pictures as part of this
description. The last picture (of the bike in red) is an OLD yet AMAZING PICTURE of this bike before the previous owner rebuilt and re-painted this one of a kindBlue '51 PanheadCHOPPER. It is of the man who built this bike. This bike was owned by the same man for decades and he regularly maintained it and faithfully rode it to annual events including bike week & and other "STURGIS-TYPE" events. I don't know which events specifically but this information was passed along to me when I bought the bike a few years ago from a builder/friend who purchased the bike from the family. However, I was the 1st to register, insure, and regularly ride this bike after it having been owned by one man for over 3-DECADES. I mention this because the history of a chopper and having provenanceis very important to me. This is not some bike put together with re-pop parts or even period correct parts. It is a complete, mechanically sound, beautifullyaged single stage lacquerpaint with silver leaf throughoutthe entire frame, tank and molded pieces.
I have several
Choppers and motorcycles and have to sell some of my collection for financial
reasons. I have been riding this bike very little but l just started and rode
this bike two days ago. I have owed this bike for a few years and have put
some time and money into it to keep it up and running well. EVERYONE SAYS THE ENGINE WAS "RECENTLY REBUILT"....I can tell you this: "This engine was rebuilt beautifully before the longtime owner had health issues and then the bike was put away and stored for several years after his death. Once acquired, two new coils and a new battery were added by LIVE FREE CYCLES, I rebuilt the carb, and this thing has run beautifully for me.I HAVE THE ENGINE REBUILD SHEET (see pics and notes dating from the 90's...explaining the engine re-builderused an H-cam, Andrews gears, installed Rockers, did a valve job, new guides...etc) and several receipts which show the effort the previous owner had put into the engine and overall maintenance." It is so rare to find an engine done beautifully which is not in need of being torn down. With that said, it is a69 year
old bike and will require some periodic maintenance. (like any bike really) I always want to be honest and I
would never intentionally mislead a seller. So please don't buy this bike
and think you are not used to a vintage, kick-start, suicide clutch, jockey-shift chopper. This is the best running PANHEAD, I have ever owned and the most fun to ride. The tires have great treadbut the rear tire is showing some dry rot. I ride old bikes with old tires but I always tell people the truth, aim to give an accurate description of what I am selling, so you may want new tires for your own reassurance and safety. Lastly I will be available if you choose to use a shipping company but I will not arrange for shipping. That will be the buyers responsibility. Again, read my 100% positive feedback and bid with confidence. I have sold many high end and high priced vintage guitars an musical equipment and have been with ebay for 13 years!!!!!This bike really is solid and while it is a Harley, it doesn't leak more than a drop or have issues with sumping. The lights work, has a horn. Unmolested vin # on left side case. I do believe it to be numbers matching but the belly numbers on the right case are worn (see pic) so I can't say with 100% certainty. With that said, it is a '51 frame, '51 transmission,STD dual-plugged heads, andwhat I believe are original or period correct tanks. That along with history of this bike being the previous owners pride and joy, this chopper was done TIGHT, and RIGHT.
I have brought my bikes (re-built surviviors) toNOTT(Night of the Troglodytes) Chopper show!!!! This is an amazing show for builders and chopper enthusiasts which takes place at night at the start of TROG (The Race of Gentlemen) This is a passion for me, not a business. Restoring, riding, and building vintage bikes and choppers is truly a passion and anyone who is involved for the love of bikes, never really gets out the investment they put into their personal bikes. My loss is your gain.
So, Please read my 100% feedback selling and buying vintage guitars and musicalequipment in addition to motorcycles and motorcycle parts and ask questions. If you bid and win this bike I except payment. I will send or attach a link to show the bike running and perhaps a brief video of me riding it earlier in the summer. If you need other pictures, please ask. I have uploaded a video to YouTube titled: 1951 BLUE PANHEAD CHOPPER Good Luck bidding!!!
If you have "0" feedback (or less than 10 transactions) you must contact me before bidding on this item. Please do not bid if you do not have the finances or have no intention of following through with completion of this sale. Lastly, I will not alter bills of sale or deal with anything regarding customs. This auction is for US bidders ONLY. Thanks for your interest.
On Sep-05-20 at 15:13:03 PDT, seller added the following information:This Panhead has a great, tight, vintage twisted springer front end which functions amazingly without any flop. Rake and trail was done precisely and it tracks beautifully!!!On Sep-07-20 at 14:47:07 PDT, seller added the following information:Just to to clear: I have received a few questions about the belly numbers: I just sold my '53 Panhead which had obvious matching belly #'s. For this '51 Panhead I wrote the right side case belly # is quite worn so I can not say for certain if the right case is original.... I can say with certainty, the left case is original, which carries the vin# , matches the title and has been with the bike along with the '51 frame, trans, etc...AND
If the right case was replaced it was done so long ago & has been with the bike for over 30 years as I have the engine rebuild paperwork from '91 & it doesn't mention replacing the right case. So, lastly...I can't speculate what year the right case is from if it is in fact not original,(some have said it could be a factory replacement, or from another Panhead, EL Knuckle, ...etc?..

..I'm not gonna "guess".) but this is a true '51 Panhead Chopper which runs great!!
Thank you all for your insight , interest, and questions. Please ask any and all questions before bidding. See my positive feedback from the sale of my other Panhead a few weeks ago and bid to win!!!! Good Luck!!!
