com. This is an extremely rare Nash Healey Le Mans Coupe for restoration. it has come in from the USA and is a great candidate for restoration. The car has also spent time in Germany judging by the stickers on the windscreen. It is ready to restore and then be registered anywhere. In 1949 a chance meeting between Donald Healey and George Mason. boss of Nash-Kelvinator. resulted in a new US-only model being added to the Warwick-based companys range - the Nash-Healey. The latter combined Nashs 234. 6ci (3. 8-litre) overhead-valve six and three-speed/overdrive gearbox with the chassis of the Healey Silverstone sports-racer. Crafted in aluminium and featuring a distinctive Nash-style grille. the streamlined body foreshadowed that of the Austin-Healey 100. Despite some notable competition successes - works entries finished 4th at Le Mans and 9th in class at the Mille Miglia in 1950 - sales were disappointing and production ceased in 1951. Restyled by Pinin Farina. the Nash-Healey re-emerged in 1952 no heavier than before despite its new steel bodywork and soon benefited from a larger (252. 6ci. 4. 1-litre) and more powerful (140bhp) engine. Racing successes continued. particularly at Le Mans where a Nash-Healey finished 3rd in 1952. beaten only by a brace of Mercedes-Benz 300SL sports prototypes. Capitalising on this achievement. a long-wheelbase fixed-head coupé Le Mans model was introduced for 1953. One of the most glamorous sportscars of its day. the Nash-Healey featured in the 1950s TV series Superman and Billy Wilders 1954 movie Sabrina. starring Humphrey Bogart. Audrey Hepburn and William Holden. Sadly. sales remained below expectations and Nash-Healey production finally ceased in 1954 after 506 cars had been sold. One of very few Pinin Farina-bodied Nash-Healey Le Mans Coupes built. chassis number N3110 is finished in Primer ready for painting and has the engine fitted. but it is missing a few ancilliaries. This car comes with many parts as you can see in the photos but but there will be a few parts missing. what you see in the photos is what you get with the car. These are incredibly rare in Europe and this would be a worthwhile project for someone looking for something slightly different! Also published at eBay.co.uk
