Seller Description

The original owner, a Racer, whom I worked for bought the bike new from Jonnies Motor Shop in Belleville, Illinois. Jonnie Tarvin was a racer and his shop catered to racers. Never put on the street My Boss raced it a few times and started setting it up for Daytona. He never finished the project and it spent the rest of its life in garages and Barns. I talked him into selling it in 1993 or so. All the electrics sheetnetal etc was all saved by him and about everything on this bike is original to it. Everything re chromed, 99 % of the hardware is original to the bike and re cad plated. Original seat is perfect and not installed on the bike , a nice RK Leighton seat is on it to save the original. Dunlop alloys as were on it when I acquired it. Buchanan’s respoked the wheels . Vintage brakes trued the drums and rebuilt brakes. A ALFIN rear brake was put on it by me. I have the original rear drum. Wiring harness is a hi quality repo. I had the woven sheath with the correct pattern weaved on it. Horn was sent to Taft in England. Instruments to Nisongers. The engine less the cylinder up was sent to Phil Pearson who built it using the original oval flywheels. Phil upgraded the quill feed. Installed his needle roller bearing Timing gear plate. BSA 8.0 piston, Scrambles cams, Original exhaust pipe with OEM BSA straight pipe exhaust extension part number [hidden information], and a 32 MM concentric make it super easy to start and Idle. The air filter is a period piece. I have the original TT carb and a monobloc all set up for it.

The gas tank was sent to Tennant Eyles for a total restoration. All parts on the tank are original to the bike. STD gearbox original to bike. Clutch is an early Pearson Suzuki modified clutch it retains stock primary chain and engine sprockets can be changed to suit gearing, works beautifully. Dynamo was sent to Ken Bell of Bell Engineering one of the best Lucas wizards around at the time. I have the original Statement of Origin from the BSA factory to Nutley to Jonnies to my boss. I have more original paperwork that came with the bike. Feel free to get in touch I can supply lots more details, pictures, videos on the bike. No International sale. Domestic only.Looking at some of the photos I see Allen bolts on the timing cover I have the originals, I have not changed them out in order to save them from getting marred. I can send all the pictures you want on any part.
