Description
1957 CHEVROLET BEL AIRThe Chevrolet Bel Air is one of the most recognized and beloved classics of all time. Its clean lines, ornate trim, and excellent proportions make for a handsome car with a lot of customizing potential. Not surprisingly, a wide array of these trademark Chevys populate car shows around the country, and their builds range from Concours' correct quality restorations all the way to wild creations that exceed the performance of today's fastest sports cars. Somewhere between those perfected trailer queens and temperamental custom machines, you'll find cars like this incredibly built 1967 Chevrolet Bel Air coupe. Decked in a smooth coat of deep Red paint, sporting an attractive two-tone grey leather interior, and featuring a modern Chevrolet drivetrain, this super slick tri-five is an exceptionally restored, award-winning car that is ready for endless nights of carefree cruising and car shows. If you're looking for a well-done weekend warrior that'll turn heads and drop jaws, then look no further: you've found your next ride!
Logging just a couple hundred miles since a meticulous, professionally done, frame-off restoration, this picturesque '57 Chevy utilizes the highest quality replacement parts on the market to create a “no excuses car” with classic good looks. When the obligations of a “correct” restoration are removed, you'd be amazed at what a seasoned fabricator can do to vintage sheet metal.
During this car's extensive rebuild, every piece of its body was honed and fine-tuned until it was as close to perfect as it could get. Once that canvas was fully prepped, a fantastic coat of Red Basecoat paint was professionally sealed in a thick clearcoat shell. After that, the car's panels were re-assembled into arrow-straight surfaces and everything was buffed to a glare inducing shine as you can see in the photos (that still don't do the car justice, really.

) The result is one striking '57 Bel Air which features first-rate finish work, presents exceptionally well, and has enough visual punch to make 'kids' from 8 to 80, point, stare and smile.
Tri-fives are renowned for their brilliant use of chrome and bright metal trim, and one look at this spectacular coupe tells you all you need to know about correctly detailing and accenting pretty much anything with four wheels. At the front of the car a heavy, body-width bumper houses a proper gold Bel Air grille behind a pristine Chevrolet crest and two clear parking lights. Above that Chevrolet crest, Bel Air exclusive gold hood ornamentation sits between the iconic looking '57 Chevy exclusive 'spear bullets and spoons' and new headlights. On the sides of the car, classic 'tri-five' Chevy stainless runs from the front fenders to the rear fins and is branded by Bel Air exclusive gold emblems free from dulling or imperfections of any kind. At the bottom of the doors, dent-free stainless rocker moldings perfectly reflect the floor it's parked on; and at the top of the doors, excellent looking stainless trim combines with correct chrome mirrors and new Raingear wipers to perfectly frame the cars entire smoked greenhouse. Behind that greenhouse, peaked stainless trim begins at the top of the fins and continues down to '57 Chevy exclusive chrome taillights and second body-width chrome bumper. On the trunk lid, another Bel Air exclusive gold “Chevrolet” script hangs above a matching gold “V,” and below the bumper on the right and left sides is where you'll find the exhaust exiting the car.
Centered in this hot Chevrolet's glossy red engine bay is a fully dressed, powerful sounding 1969 LT1 350 cubic inch V8 block which produces approximately 450 horsepower. Motor completely freshly built when the car was finished. Chrome “Chevrolet” valve covers hang above ceramic coated Street and Performance shorty headers which send consumed gases into a great sounding true dual exhaust system, and flow through two beautiful stainless steel polished mufflers. At the front of the engine a modern serpentine system, and polished brackets spin an aluminum cased alternator, an aluminum AC compressor, and a small power steering pump. In front of that serpentine system theres an electric puller fan that's mated to a polished aluminum radiator, which is complete with body-matched corrugated hoses, a smooth chrome cap, and a familiar polished overflow tank. Naturally, the car's entire block is covered in a clean coat of black block paint. Accessories like a polished heater block-off plate, billet aluminum front core support panels, a chrome brake booster and master cylinder, a full set of braided hoses and stainless lines, and trick braided dipsticks add the kind of detail that warrants multiple looks and double-takes. Did I mention this fully sorted powerhouse fires right up, idles smoothly, and runs as quick and dependable as any modern-era Chevrolet V8?
Underneath this sharp hardtop, a stunningly straight and smooth chassis is finished in gloss black paint and, when viewed next to the car's plethora of clean suspension parts, looks so nice you'll swear it rolled out of the paint booth yesterday afternoon. Above that top-notch chassis, solid red floor pans have exchanged their traditional oxide primer for a wet-looking basecoat/clearcoat that makes the underside just as beautiful as the topside. Behind the engine, a new 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission spins torque through a fully rebuilt positraction rear-end that's packed full of stout 3.36 gears. Holding that road-ready drivetrain in place is a fully rebuilt suspension, which includes correct double A-arms upfront, correct leaf springs out back and a fresh set of Monroe Sensa-Trac shocks and struts that deliver enhanced control with uncompromised ride comfort. Modern car turning characteristics are provided by a fresh power steering system. Short, confident stops come courtesy of the industry-leading Wilwood High-Performance power 4-wheel disc brakes, with red calipers to accent the drilled rotors. At the center of the floor, a custom mandrel-bent exhaust system sends spent gases through two great-sounding stainless steel polished mufflers. All the car's fuel lines, brake lines, and stainless fasteners appear fresh and free of weathering. There are some pretty cool finishing touches that include an aluminum lined oil pan, crisp smooth transmission pan, and quality hardware. A fresh factory looking fuel tank, along with lots of miscellaneous detail work, provides the kind of trophy-winning prowess that generates high point-scoring sheets. When you gun the throttle and put the power to the pavement, there's a sweet set of 17-inch Coys wheels that are outfitted with new 205/50 front and 235/60 rear Kumho Solus radials.
Climb inside this '57 Bel Air and you'll find a great looking gray and silver interior that's every bit as dramatic and cool as the exterior of the car. Covered in gray two-tone leather, the car's bucket seats are all-day comfortable and mostly free of wear marks and ugly wrinkles. Overhead there's a crisp custom gray headliner, and below the seats, like-new gray carpeting blankets the floor and compliments the attractive stainless pedal covers. On the doors, gray trim panels look great behind a familiar array of stainless trim and chrome handles; and at the front of the car, a curvaceous gray dash is detailed with traditional tri-five stainless, controls for a Vintage Air heat and air conditioning system, a fully functional AM/FM radio with iPod connector, as well as a Custom Auto Sound 6-CD changer in the trunk. In front of the driver, a billet Lecarra leather-wrapped steering wheel spins around a chrome column shifter. A trio of Dakota Digital gauges lays upon a metallic silver instrument panel that features a popular Dakota Digital speedometer. Off to the right side of the dash is a matching blue Digital clock that accents the digital dash nicely. And behind the cockpit, two great sounding speakers hang over a fully restored trunk which features attractive gray accent panels, and enough gray carpet to double line the largest of any trunk GM ever made.
From the local show to the local strip, this fully-sorted 1957 Bel Air will stun even the harshest critics. It's a highly desirable tri-five Chevy that's been tastefully tweaked with all of the right substance that makes it a serious road machine and a stunning trophy winner wherever you take it. Whether you're heading down the road for a drive with family or friends or displaying it at a major event, you'll instantly draw a crowd and everyone will be talking and gawking over the magnificent build quality and custom details galore. So if you've been searching for the ultimate Bel Air to enjoy day in and day out, your search is officially over! This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air can never and will never be duplicated. Dare to own the best.
