This
is a very nice older restoration of an early 1961 Ducati Diana 250cc single. The overall condition of the bike is
excellent and very complete, including original clip-ons, tire pump, Silentium
muffler. Fuel is fed to the single overhead cam bevel drive 4-stroke engine by the stock spec 24mm Del Orto Carburator. This bike is in show condition
with very few scratches or paint chips. Early Ducati singles did not have matching engine and frame numbers but were usually within a 1,000 digits as the frame and engine were assembled separately and mated to frames as they came down the assembly line. This frame and engine would be considered matching and manufactured in the same year.
The
odometer shows 2,323 miles on the speedometer, but I do not know if these are
the original miles.
The bike
starts easily on the first or second kick and runs strong without smoke or
leaks and shifts through the 4 speed gear box as it should. The 6 volt electric system charges fine and the headlights, taillights and brake lights, and horn all work. There's nothing like riding a back country twisty
road on a little Ducati Single road racer. These were considered one of the fastest 250cc bikes of the period.

This
bike is ready to ride and enjoy as it is.
The
only thing this motorcycle could use is a new set of tires mounted. If the winning bidder will cover the shipping
costs, I have a new set of modern IRC tires I will add to this sale at no extra
charge.

A
deposit of $300 must be made within 3 days of the end of auction. Remaining
balance must be paid and funds cleared before pick up and within 5 business
days of auction end. Payment by cash, wire transfer, personal check (after
clears) or cashier’s check. Paypal o.k. on the deposit, but not on the balance.
