Here is a very good example of the performance machine which started the Cafe Racer class: an original Triton - the smart combination of the excellent Norton Featherbed frame and the strong Triumph 650cc Bonneville engine.
This one was built by a Norton expert friend with all the correct equipment used. It has a 1963 Slimline Fearherbed frame and a 1970 Triumph T120RV engine - with 5 speed transmission. It has 2770 miles on it from original build. All Triton components are from Unity Equipe in UK - the Triton experts.
Engine number: T120RV GE 2619. This is my personal bike.
This machine starts very easily, very good compression, idles well and runs Strong. The engine is fully rebuilt to high standard and runs with little mechanical noise. Of course, handling is exemplary with the legendary Featherbed and Norton Roadholder 35mm forks. All gears select well and the clutch works as intended. The front brake is the Norton 8 inch 2LS brake as used on early Norton Commandos. The rear wheel is also Norton with flanged alloy-rims with stainless spokes fitted to both wheels. The full 12 volt electrical system works very well - the alternator charges as intended. All components - good inc. horn. New battery fitted.
Clip-On handlebars are fitted but the stock handlebar clips are there so higher standard bars can be fitted for greater riding comfort. Dunstall-type rear-set pegs and levers are fitted. The Amal 30mm Concentric carburetors are fully serviced (includes chokes) with alloy velocity stacks.
The Gas Tank and Seat are custom made - both Alloy. They are designed and made to match the Norton Oil Tank and Battery/tool Box - all have the 3 horizontal strips. The seat housing comprises a place for items behind the actual seat base which lifts off. The exhaust pipes are genuine Triton items in excellent condition and, mufflers are Dunstall-type megaphones. The speedometer has been recently replaced (that's why it shows low mileage).

Any problems? Not really - one barrel fin is broken on right side - top fin - easily repaired.
