Seller Description

1963 Pontiac Grand Prix
Rare 4 speed model
was an original tri-power car
Az SW survivor
FAIR RESERVE ...bid on it to win !
This is a very rare GP that probably a handful similar
models are left in existance. PHS records are on the way and
I should have them this week.

But the car is what it is and
other then being very solid, its still very original and shows it.
We suggest viewing our auction on normal large monitors
and or tablet to get the most out of our large easy to view pics.
Desert Survivor being sold by a very legit Ebay seller
If you have any concerns about our vehicle, please ask or dont
bid on it. Dont wait till after you win and then make up stuff on
wondering if we are real or not.
FEEDBACK !!! if you cant take 10 min to read thru our feedback
on the cars we have sold here over the last 10 yrs, then you also
shouldnt be bidding on our auctions. Ebay offers our Feedback rating
for a reason,... try trusting it.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
These cars are getting much harder to find, just as 2 door models.
This car is still wearing 90% of its original paint from 63. Its one of
aprox 5000 ever made to come from the factory with a 4 spd. But, how
many 389s came with Tri-power? Anotherrare option, are the 8 lug wheels.
Very original, this car was never modded or "turned into a drag car".
Still has the factory console and dash tach intact. It has aprox 90k original
miles on it and has been parked most of the last 20 yrs. With very little
work we got the car to fire and run, BUT there is a noticable noise coming
from the back of the engine-lower part. Very possible a rod knock. Other
then that theres no smoke or other issues. At the moment the driveshaft was
removed (but comes with the car) because it was towed a few times in the
last 20 yrs from location to new location. Some other parts not seen in the
pics do come with the car. Once a few yrs ago while being loaded onto a
trailer, it rolled forward into another car and dented the front end at a really
low speed impact, hence the primer up front. The headlight components and
bumper are loosely bolted on at the moment . Some replacement good parts
do come with the car too for the restoration.
Also I wanted to add, this is an EARLY Dec 62 production date car.
Personally, Id fix the motor, brakes, put the driveshaft back in
and drive it like that. Maybe try and blend the front end repair to rest
of the original paint too. Do a few repairs to the interior, toss down
a new trunk mat and take it to cruise nites just like that :)DONT BID UNLESS YOU HAVE THE FUNDS IN HAND
BUILD ANYWAY YOU WANT, NO HARM NO FOUL !
Excellent Investment / Clean Clear Arizona TitleIf you have under 10 feedbacks, Ill be emailing you if you bid to
make sure you are legit, if we do please reply or we will cancel your bid.
Up for Auction: I wont end it early, sorry.
DRIVETRAIN: factory original matching #s 389 motor, along
with 4 spd. Sometime in the 70s or 80s the original Tri-power was
swapped for a more usable 4v manifold and carb. Left on where the
waterneck for the tri-power set up. Trans is the correct BW T10
longer tailshaft version and also probably the original too. I plan on
Updating some of the pics during the week as I clean up more
under it to show more details.
I can start it up but its a tad noisy so Ive not run it long.
Very original under the hood, with no mods at all, almost unheard of
finding these days. (other then the tri power missing, BUT they are
readily available used these days luckily for a fair price.
The car was driven the way it came from the factory
and it did it very well for about 30 yrs before it was taken off the road.
Not sure what gears are in the rearend. The car does roll and steer ok.
It does need a brake master cylinder (among other things obviously)
INTERIOR: take a look at the pics, Az heat has taken its toll on
alot of it, but in some areas its not bad. It does look decent in the
Pics, but it is dry and the vinyl, a bit stiff. ..but usable !
Carpet and headliner are the worst. The very cool period correct
Rear Window Shades are priceless ! Restore it how you feel and
its a win win either way. The rear floors are solid both inside and
out. Because moisture under the carpet off and on over the yrs the
pass front side floor took the worst of it. I took a screwdriver to the
floors from underneath and was able to make a few holes in the PS
front the most, not front salt or snow, but from moisture collecting
under the front carpet and padding over the yrs. I think if the interior
was taken apart some, cleaned and restored it would come back
nicely and keep the survivor look. Factory AM-FM radio is pretty rare
too for 1963, as is the Factory Dash Tach. Windows all seem to work
fine and in good shape. A good cleaning and a few new items inside
would come back nicely.
The trunk, due to its rubber trunk mat, over the yrs also held in
moisture and the trunk pan too took on some rust (LOTS of pics)
Its totally usable as is, it just depends on how far you want to restore
it. Personally, Id fix the motor, brakes, put the driveshaft back in
and drive it like that. Maybe try and blend the front end repair to rest
of the original paint too. Do a few repairs to the interior, toss down
a new trunk mat and take it to cruise nites just like that :)
EXTERIOR:the body very straight for its age, with a few
dents front to rear, but nothing too major. Some of the trim
is missing. But the car did avoid your typical eastcoast rust
and rot, spending most of its life in West TX and AZ. Not saying its
totally rust free, it has some along the bottom part of the PS
lower fender. Rockers and rear 1/4s in great shape and
there is nothing hiding because its still wearing 90% of the original
Bronze paint. Rear bumper and stainless are in really nice shape.
Solid nice car overall. Check out all the pics carefully .
SUSPENSION:the suspension looks normal from what I can
make out, basically the way it came out of the factory except
some stuff replaced over the yrs from normal wear n tear.
Sits nice on the factory 8 lug wheels. Some older air shocks are
out back, not connected. Im sure the car has a factory HD
suspension all around from the factory. This is a really cool car
and not like any of seen in over 25 yrs around here. Tires are
of course very old and dry rot, but do hold air.
Minimal rust under the car, but while in CA it did get some
rot along the lower body. But nothing like an Eastcoast car.
Check out ALL the pics below ----->it may take a full minute for them all to load ifyou have a
slow connection, so be patient AND looks for the extra scroll
bar on the right side.
Az gets maybe 12" a yr of rain and Az very dry climate.
more infoAFTER the pics etc. There are 100 large pics.
Probably The BEST represented Panchos on Ebay.
Shows you all the good as well as any bad.
We put a lot of time and effort in marketing our cars.
People wait months for a car this solid to come up for sale
and even if you have to pay shipping to your area, it still beats
paying a body shop to hopefully fix a rusty car for weeks.
Having as much as the original steel on a non restored car these
speaks volumes. Survivors are getting harder to find !
Also, if you buy a car thats been "restored", who knows what surprises are hidden under new paint or thick undercoating.
People are flipping cars all the time when most of the jobs are
fast, for a quick buck and quality suffers.
