1963 Vauxhall FB VX 4/90 Twin Carb This was the Performance saloon of its day to have! it had many performance and styling upgrades over the Vauxhall FB Victor on which it was based; these included High compression performance aluminium Cylinder head (Iron on the Victor) Exterior and interior styling upgrades. Disc brakes. Brake servo. Twin carbs. bigger wheels all included as standard by the factory. There are currently two VX4 /90's currently competing in the classic touring car championship where it makes an interesting alternative from the usual lotus Cortinas and sporting jaguars you find so often. I had been looking for a very long time for the right FB VX 4/90 to come along as they all seemed rusty.

I decided to purchase this one as the body was solid overall and it was in good condition generally. I also liked the fact the elderly chap who I bought the car before me owned the car from nearly new and was the second owner. As you would expect from an Ex-RAF squadron leader he kept the car maintained regardless of cost which would explain the condition of the car now and the extremely low mileage it has now. The car is 100% complete but I have removed the carpets. the factory Vauxhall radio and the engine which all come with the car. The carpet is green and is a bit shabby and will need replacing. It looks to be the original item and will make a good template for a replacement. The engine is dismantled and will need rebuilding. There is a tiny rip in the passenger front seat as shown and both front seats need new supporting straps but apart from that all seats are in excellent condition and show little sign of wear which is important as second-hand replacements are virtually impossible to find and new one are not available at all. You will notice the interior clock which was a factory option. The car is pretty rust free apart from the two large holes in the two front foot wells as you can see. The remaining metal is solid and the floor pan is rust-free generally apart from this. New sills have been fitted and some finishing is required to box in the ends and surrounding area. The rear arches have restored to with new metal by an ex-Ferrari body panel expert and this has been done to an extremely high standard. The car comes complete with a transferable six digit pre-reg cherished Registration number (***JUE) which has been valued by Reg Transfers at ВЈ3. 50. however it would be a shame to transfer the number. The car is located in Blandford. Dorset at my parents house and it can be viewed there. The car is registered in my name.
