Seller Description
Start here: https://youtu.be/wweiVHKCJCUThis auction is for a Harley Davidson Panhead chopper project. It does start, run, and shiftwithno issues with the engine or transmission whatsoever.I will work with the shipping company of your choice but the winning bidder is responsible for all shipping costs. This bike is complete. All the parts are not back on it as you can tell from the pictures, and many have been replaced and are still packaged. But everything is there to put herback togetheragain.I bought this bikeat an estate sale a couple of years ago, it hadn't been running since the mid 70's whenshe was parked due to a wiring short in the regulator. I was told by the family selling the bike that the bike had been bought new here in Southern California in '65 then taking directly to a shop in the San Fernando Valley to have the bike taken down and converted into pretty muchthe chopper you see here.I decided to disassemble, and clean her up and see if she would run, then repairwhat needed to be done but otherwise leave her as a survivor.I've gotten pretty far but am just out of room so I am reluctantly going to pass her onto someone else to finish.Thespringer is a vintage 60's original Denver, and original to the bike. Parts of it have beenrecently re-plated by Show Chrome inOrange County, cost was about $900 to re-plate the legs and triples.Bothwheel assembleswere taken to Buchanan's Spoke and Rim for new polished stainless spokes, nipples, lacing and truing at a cost of nearly $1600. Rear rim, and hub are allHarley, except for the spokes and nipples. Frontrimis an Italian "Milan" fairly rare with a unique cross-section. Front hub looks to be American aftermarket similar to the hubs put on early front engine dragsters of the 60's. Tires, and tubes are brand new Metzler ME.The tank is an original Gary Littlejohn and was repaired, and pressure testeddue to a leak. Frame is an original Harley Davidson with '65 casting marks. Don't known who did the "gooseneck" but it is unique, awesome and a tasteful done original design. Many people in the bike industry have seen the neck job and love it, more people compliment that than any other part of this bike. You will be a standout at bike shows even with this rather mellow single stage paint job. Some tabs have been removed and most of the joints filled.Rear brake assembly is all rebuilt and complete.Clutch is a brand new Primo Rivera. Belt is an older Primo I took into the shop and they recommended I run it, so just the idler/tensioner was replaced with the new style.Trans is original to the bike, as far as I know. Shifts with no issues or unusual noises.Engine has NOS, unstamped, Harley Davidson Panhead cases. I don't know why.Enginesounds great and runs good but carb seems off somewhat, never got around to going through it.S&S Super B was 70's NIB when I installed it. I did not tear the engine down. She started right up with fresh fuel, and oil so I left her as is. Timer is '66 auto-advance type and seems to be working right and is not sloppy. Same for heads and rest of the top end OEM '66 Harley. All the oil hoses have been replaced. Battery and cablesare new.Rear fender struts are original Smith Bros. & Fetrow re-shaped to match, what I think is, a cut down early Ironhead Sportsterrear fender. Its a bit unique because of the small "duckbill" at the rear. She is a project so there are things that need to be done before you can ride here, but she's a great Winter project that's easy to finish if your leaving her as a survivor. The bikedoes need to be wired (new '66 V Twin FLH harness included) you'll need to pick out some switches; I hadn't gotten to that yet. The rear brakes have to be put back together, and thebrake line and hose run. New parts included.
Foot controls are early 70's FX mids and are included. Seat is a new Le Pera Bare Bones I bought for the seat tray; I also have an NOSvintage Italian made chopper seat that goes with it, and a pair of NOS small size Hella reverse lights (the expensive ones everybody wants, cost me $600 for the pr) Matching belly numbers
