When Sir William Lyons installed the Daimler V8 in the compact Mark II Jaguar saloon they created a car with an entirely different character, one that appealed to an altogether more sophisticated customer. The Daimler could reach 110 mph and was accompanied by a lovely V8 exhaust note through the twin pipes. It offered a greater degree of refinement than the Mk 2 with the Daimler fluted grille and rear number plate surround, distinctive wheel trims, badges, and interior details including a split-bench front seat. This particular example comes with a large invoice file and spare key. The body is very solid and presents exceptionally well, the interior is excellent having recently been re-trimmed. A delight to drive, any test welcome.
