Seller Description

***This E-type was going to be in the Gooding & Company Pebble Beach Auction on August 14 & 15 but due to epidemic the auction has been canceled.***Please ask any questions you may have. If you have been looking for an E-type that checks all of the boxes this is the one. This an original west coast car that has all it’s original complete sheet metal, not like the east coast cars that have been patched up from rust repairs.I’m down sizing to a retirement size home so this is your chance to purchase a really amazing car. I looked a long time to find this car. This listing is for a fully restored by XK's Unlimited(everything has been gone through, complete disassemble rotisserie restoration) leaving nothing untouched, 1966 Jaguar E-Type 4.2 Roadster in it’s factory original exteriorcolor "Opalescent Dark Green Metallic"with tan leather interior and a black convertible top. Fully documented. All number matching. Engine, transmission, body andchassis all havecorrect factory stamped numbers matching the original data plate. I alsohave the Jaguar Heritage Certificate.Absolutely beautiful paint that is chip and scratch free.Sold new back in 1966 out of Beverly Hills, CAand now located in the Las Vegas area. I am the 2nd owner of the car. Have the original owners information. I have personally owned this car for almost 20 years.During the restoration the E-type had some highly desirable upgrades done for drivability and performance, but I still do retain all of the changed out original parts which were also rebuilt at the same time and will go to the new owner.Car is all numbers matching with all original body panels. Never had any rust and has never been in an accident.
If you have done your research you know this is the highly desirable 4.2 liter Series 1 sports car which was only available for a short time before U.S. regulations caused noticeable changes in the appearance and specifications in the summer of 1967.This new engine design brought engine displacement up from the 3.8 liter engine improving drivability and giving better low end torque. Also a full-synchromesh transmission was introduced. This is considered one of the best years for drivability of all E-types.

Not often you can enjoy using something this much that is also a blue chip investment.
I had a full restoration done at XK’s Unlimited in San Luis Obispo, CA after only bringing in the car for a rear main seal. The car at that time had never been restored. It was a survivor...not ever even having a full repaint. It was a hard decision but decided to do a full restoration. Almost two years later and in the six figures the E-type was finished. When I first saw the car I was amazed at how beautiful the car looked, which of course was expected...but when I climbed in and fired her up and started drivingI knew I had something special. Taking her through the rolling hills of California wine country was amazing. Hearing her unique exhaust note echo in the canyons while going through the gears, there is no description to give it justice. Only a select few can relate to what I’m talking about. The Jaguar E-type was leaps ahead of any car from that era.Has been regularly maintained now only having 1,500 additional miles since the restoration was completed of which 500 of those miles were accumulated at the shop while getting everything dialed in. Total of only 72,000 original miles since rolling off the dealer floor back in 1966. Complete full documentation with all cost of the six figure restoration will be included with the sale.
Some upgrades done were performance F.I.A Performance stainless steel exhaust system andexhaust manifolds, aluminum cooling system with electric fan, front and back Wilwood disc brakes, Dayton original style wheels, Pirelli P4000 SuperTouring 205/70 15 ZR rated tires, and a brand new 5 speed transmission built specifically for 6 cyl. E-types. This car drives and handles amazing. Much improved on an already impressive car.Has it’s tool roll, jack, and spare tire. Also included is a custom car cover made specifically for a 1966 e-type. Everything works on the car. Having the added 5 speed transmission makes this car one of the most pleasurable cars to drive at any speed and with the already rebuilt original numbers matching full-synchromesh 4 speed transmission also going with the car makes it possible to switch back to the original if ever desired.Just can’t explain how much joy you get from driving this car without actually being in the drivers seat yourself. The sound of the exhaust as you go through the gears is something that can only be experienced in an E-type.
VIN Number was whited out in picture to prevent any possible fraud but will be given to any potential buyers on request.
All shipping cost and inspections are the responsibility of the buyer.
Sold as is where is with no warranty implied. Please come inspect or have the car professionally inspected to see just how nice this E-type is. You will not be disappointed.
