This
is a very nice original 1966 Triumph T120R.
Engine was rebuilt approximately 3,500 miles ago by award winning
British Motorcycle restorer Mickey Peters of Bakersfield, CA. Rebuild consisted largely of new +.020 Pistons,
Rings and intake and exhaust valves.
Carburetors
have been upgraded to dual concentric Amal carbs. Rims were upgraded to Akront
Alloy shouldered rims. The Front Brake has been ugraded to a 1968 T120R Dual
Leading Shoe backing plate for much improved stopping power. Frame and forks
have original paint and shows some scratches and patina but show well (especially
with 1963 original paint gas tank - see below) . Seat has been recovered with the period style
seat color.
The
original 1966 T120R fuel tank has been repainted to original specs. Little known fact; 1966 T120R gas tanks were a
one year only design. The unique
difference being that the petcocks bolted into a 1/2" tall collar welded
into the bottom of the tank to clear the dual air filters. Many "Restored" and
"Original" 1966 T120Rs do not
have these collars indicating the gas tanks were swapped with other year tanks
at some point. This bike has its
original 1966 fuel tank.
The
speedometer stopped working along time ago, and I use a bicycle digital
speedometer and odometer mounted on the handlebars.
The bike
starts easily on the first or second kick and runs strong without smoke or
leaks and shifts through the 4 speed gear box as it should. The electrical system works flawlessly and keeps the battery charged.

This bike has a
clean California title and registration is current. This bike is ready to ride and enjoy as is.
Added
bonuses: This bike is being sold with a
beautiful original paint 1963 TR6 SS fuel tank with original parcel rack and
badges. This tank bolts right on to this
bike and gives it a completely different but original look (see pictures). Also included is a new condition Thruxton style
cafe racer solo seat, and drop handle bars for even another look for this 1966
T120R. Also included is a freshly painted left side ignition cover, the original one currently on the bike has a vibration crack on the top but I continue to leave it on the bike because of the original T120 Bonneville water transfer decal on the cover.
