BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
This Tempest has spent most of its life in the AZ. It came to Tucson in aprox
1970. And in about 1982 it was parked on ranch property here in the desert for
whatever reason. We pulled it from its yard, oil down the cylinders for a few days
just to be safe, installed new plugs and had the starter rebuilt. Hooked the fuel
line from the pump to a small gas source under the hood (no idea whats in the tank)
poured a little gas down the carb and cranked it up. On the 2nd try it fired right up
and sat there and idled. We then bled the front brakes, added PS and trans
fluid and from there we took it on a short drive around our block. It smoked some
on the first start up for about a minute, but that seems to have gone away. If it
sits a few days and I start it up, theres a little smoke, but only for a few seconds.
Motor sounds good and power is fine with no odd noises. Its not ready to be a daily
driver, but at least I know the drivetrain is fine and I can drive it onto a car hauler too.

Up for Auction: I wont end it early, sorry.
DRIVETRAIN: under the hood is a pretty rare OHC
6 cyl option. Great engine and pretty much all stock.
Runs etc as mentioned above too. PB work but overall
the cars going to need restoration on about every level.
Tran shifts fine too at least.
INTERIOR: take a look at pics, pretty much dry vinyl
and old original upholstery etc. Fold down middle seat
this is a 2 row seating car. This is where the car got most
of its rust and or rot. From the inside out. The floor pans
front, middle and rear got rust from the lovely rubber
mats GM used back in the day. The dash got some rust around
the windshield etc too from my guess water over the last
40+ yrs. Rear long side glass area got rust too, 90% of it
is on the inside. (SEE PICS and Video) Blower motor and
think all the gauges work too. In the glovebox is the
original protecto plate, owners manual and some other
cool old paperwork from the early 70s. All the glass is
ok with the exception of the ft windshield. Vinly and
plastic are dry and crusty front to rear.EXTERIOR:you are seeing what the AZ sun can do to
a cars original enamel paint after 40+ yrs. Here I believe
It all to be the original paint from 67. No signs of any
prior repairs etc. Personally, it looks cool, Id leave it.
The exterior body panels are very rot or rust free from
what I can tell. See all the pics and video too. Bottom of
all the doors look clean too. It does have a power rear glass
for the tailgate, which has power, but cant get it to go down.
Tailgate itself looks very solid.
SUSPENSION:the suspension looks pretty much like the way
it came from the factory and complete. Ride height looks to have never been altered. Ive driven it around the block a d
few times and doesnt drive too bad. PS works too. Im sure
it will need some resto here too, as I can hear some noise
coming from the front end, like worn bushings or something.
Maybe the brakes too from sitting. They work, but its all very
old. Comes with 3 of the original 14" wheels. If I find a 4th
Ill toss it in. Its currently sitting on a cool set of old I think
ET Star Mags with BFG tires. If the winner doesnt want them
and would rather it ship with the originals on, Ill knock $150
off the selling price and put 4 roller tires on it to move it
and remove the Mags.
Check out ALL 100+ the pics below ----->it may take a full minute for them all to load ifyou have a slow connection, so be patient AND looks for the extra scrollbar on the right side.
Az gets maybe 12" a yr of rain and Az very dry climate. more infoAFTER the pics etc. There are 100 large pics below __>>
Probably The BEST represented Wagons on Ebay.
Shows you all the good as well as any bad.
We put a lot of time and effort in marketing our cars.People wait months for a car this solid to come up for sale. IT ONLY MAKES SENSE TO PAY A LITTLE MORE NOW ON SHIPPING so your NOT PAYING MUCH MORE IN RUST REPAIRS ON A Rust Bucket. Yes, it has rust, but not eastcoast yrs of rot. This is whats called smart economics.
Also, if you buy a car thats been "restored", who knows what surprises are hidden under new paint or thick undercoating. People are flipping cars all the time when most of the jobs are fast, for a quick buck and quality suffers.
Email us with ANY questions before you bid please
