Used 1968 Bsa A65 Used 650L

Present owner 24 years. Matching numbers verified by BSA owners club. Supposedly only 250 made in total.

Originally sold by McBride motorcycles in Ontario, Other than that nothing is known of its history. When bought it had low pipes and the speedo was not working so the mileage is unknown. I was going to UK regularly at that time and brought back the pipes and mufflers but had to make the muffler brackets which were unavailable.
The original fibre glass gas tank was replaced with the chrome one, but the one originally fitted comes with it. Not widely known but there was more than one color sold. See the photocopy of the 1968 road test in the Italian magazine. Didn't have a color p/copier then but it was burgundy type color
The cylinder head had new guides and valves and the seats recut by a local shop around 15 years ago
It has the SRM clutch pressure plate and needle bearing conversion (Not the main bearing conversion)
Boyer electronic ignition and Boyer Power box electronic charging circuit.
Both the speedo and tacho were rebuilt in UK about 15 years ago at a cost of $550
Front forks rebuilt 2012. New chrome stanchions fitted (which turned out to be 1969 version) new bushes and seals. One seal appears to be leaking. The 1968 front brake plate is included
I drain the oil tank at the end of each year as it does leak down over a long period.
The carburetors were replaced with new ones around 21 years ago. I’m told that there was a defective batch made and these have always been troublesome.
