I bought this in Miami back in 1997. Was a much different bike then. Had a Wixom faring with lowers. The really cool tear drop side bags. I put in new clutch discs, preasure plate and throw out bearing in 1998. I drove this up and down the Florida Keys for about five years. Never giving me a problem. Runs like a sewing machine!
Then I got new bike fever in 2003 and bought a K12. Parked the /5 and have never ridden it since. Around 2012 I thought I would relive the 70s (former Florida Grand Prix Riders Association member, RD350) and go vintage racing. Probably a good thing I never did that! But over the years some things got sold.
Parts missing include:Wixom fairing/lowers.Speedo and TachSaddle bags.Front fender.Rear fender. (tail light assembly included. But not the lens).Mufflers. (Header pipes are attached and solid).Headlight and chrome ring.Headlight shell, ignition switch and all wiring is solid. Just needs remounted and wires plugged back in.
Selling these items was not a great thing to do. But it did help out some friends.

Buying a K12 was not a great thing to do either...
The head light brackets are still attached to the forks and in great condition. The handle bars are original and just mounted upside down to work with the fairing. There is a 3 inch crack in the plexiglass. The rear foot pegs are included and in great condition. The fairing has the front mounting bracket. But only hanging by a wire as seen in pics. I discovered some limitations with my fiberglass skills when modifying the seat. The BMW pan is solid if a recover is desired! One fuel petcock handle is broken (pic.). Has dual spark plug heads.LESTER MAGS are nice! Gas tank side rubbers are soft, solid and will just need glued back on. The gas tank has original paint and is clean inside and obviously dry! The motor does have oil in it. Has a ride off center stand. Which is really nice! Side stand included. Not attached.I've kept her safe and dry for 22 years. The motor is tip top. No drips. Turned over regularly. Will no doubt need servicing. But I have no concerns about its future. I miss very much that purr from the stainless mufflers cruising US1. But I need room in the building. Clear Florida Title.
I can be patient with when the bike is picked up and I will assist with shipping in that I can find a pallet to strap it too if need be. Or provide access for a transport company. But paypal payment is due in 3 days. Questions welcome.
