This is a real deal 1971 Dodge Charger Super Bee. This is a great driver. I have the original build sheet as well as the Dealer paper work from when it was purchased. (see pictures) The car was sitting in a car port since 1997 and with lots of blood sweat and tears, we were able to get it running and driving, as well as have a little fun! All pans and frame rails are perfect, but the car does have rust around the quarters, back window, drip rail in the trunk, fenders ect...from sitting for so many years. We drive the car all the time and just did a 180 miler a few weeks ago. Over all it is a great car but still needs a few things here and there to be perfect.
The Engine (Non Numbers Matching) The engine was definitely built at some time. This is what we know just from working on it, as well as what I add to it.-383 B with the steal crank -Purpleshaft cam (not sure size)-Victor high-rise single plane intake-750 CFM Brawler Carb-Full MSD Ignition-Doug Long Tube Headers-New Aluminum Radiator-New water pump and belts-New Alternator-Brand New Exhaust with Electric Dumps Magnaflow Knock Offs-New Engine Mounts-The heads I believe are 915s but definitely been ported and polished.-Want to say all AARP studs were installed from what we could tell.
The Transmission (Non Numbers 727)-Fully rebuilt with shift kit (Runs and shifts excellent)-2400 Stall Converter
The Rear323 Gear Ratio (Its a beast on the Interstate)
The Wheels10" Indy Slots in back7" Indy in front with brand new BFGoodrich Tires
What It Still NeedsThe engine has Valve Tap on passenger side from sitting for so long. In my opinion it's most likely the Lifters. Until I get a chance to change them out, we just drive the car. I wouldalso suggest adjustable rockers. If the car does not sell,I will eventually do this myself. Information about 1971 Dodge Charger for sale on this page. See price and photos of the Charger Dodge -Obviously body work. I told my son that would be the lastthing we do. I also have a 1971 Charger back half thatI bought to replace some of the spots around the trunk and rear window that will go with the car.The original back seatI do have, but it has sun damage. The seat that is in it now, came out of a 71 ChargerRallye car, so the pattern is close but not perfect. I will give the original seat with the car.Trans Needs a 3000 Stall, in my opinion. The 2400 is ok when you slap shift it, but 3000 would be a little better, out of the gate!
Over all this is a great driver, especially because it is a SuperBee......OnlyreasonI'm trying to sell it is just to move on to a 4-speed car. But if itdoesn't sellthat's ok as well......
