Seller Description
Super Nice 1971 Honda CB750 K1
In 1969,
Honda released their new model CB750s and it shook the motorcycle world, with
four cylinders, electric starter, disk brakes and other improvements it
dominated the British bikes of the day. The first generation Honda CB750s
(69-76) are very collectible and any serious collector of motorcycles has at
least one of these famous bikes in their garage. Some of the motorcycle
magazines at the time called the Honda CB750 the bike of the century.
We found both
the green 1971 CB750 K1 along with the red 1976 CB750 K6 shown in the first
photo at a collector’s estate sale near Washington DC. The old
gentleman had a nice collection of vintage cars and motorcycles and was planning to restore both of these vintage bikes.
This is a NO RESERVE auction is for the green 1971 CB750 K1 ONLY.
The red 1976
CB750 K6 will be auctioned off later.
This nice
early 1971 Honda CB750 K1 in original Valley Green Metallic paint is in very
good condition for a 50 year old bike. Recent maintenance includes a new set of Dunlop Gold Seal K70 tires, new chain and sprockets, new battery, a tune up, the carbs cleaned inside and out re-jetted and
adjusted, oil and filter change, rebuilt front and rear brakes. The bike starts
right up with either the electric starter or kick starter and runs strong. All lights and turn signals work as does the electric starter and the stator keeps the battery charged up.
The periodcorrect Italian made Borrani
aluminum wheels are in good condition as are the 4 into 4 exhaust pipes and
mufflers (see photos). The chrome of the front and rear fenders is nice with minor pitted in spots. The seat appears to be original andis in very good condition.
The fuel
tank and side covers are also in very nice condition for their age. The tank
has been cleaned and coated inside. The side covers are not cracked or broken
and have all of the tabs in place. The original paint on both the fuel tank and
the side covers is in very nice with only minor pitting and a small
blemish on the right side of the tank, both items are hard to see in the
photos.
These early
CB750’s are getting extremely hard to find in this condition. Most of them have already been fully restored and are in museums or in private collections.
We want
these bikes (the K1 now and the K6 later) to be purchased by people who will
enjoy having them, take care of them and maintain them for the
future. If you are thinking of chopping it up, please buy a different bike.
Don’t miss
out on this one!
The K1 will come with a Bill of Sale and a clear North Carolina title.
All shipping
costs are to be arranged for and paid for by the buyer.
$250 Pay Pal deposit due 24 hours after end of auction. Final payment due in cash or electronic bank transfer only, within seven days.
