This is a 1971 Honda CT 70 H in fantastic condition . H means "Hand clutch " and it has the four- speed manual transmission (shift pattern- 4 down.) It runs great and starts very easily . It shifts through all 4 gears positively without any problem . The engine has been overhauled at the top end with less than 20 miles or an estimated 3 hours of use.I received this as a Christmas present from my wife around 25 years ago . She wanted to get me a memory maker this one is the exact same model as the one Ihad when I was a child.We had it fully restored by an expert Honda Trail 70 enthusiast. It is very close to show condition for a 50 year oldbike. It is probably 90% restored for show. A person could replace some cables,and other rubber parts; polish it up and it could be ready to show. The paint and chrome are very good. The chrome muffler pipe looks great. (Many of the muffler pipes on these models are all beat up or rusted out.)It has always been garage kept, and basically just admired. Sometimes I would just start it up to let it idle a bit just to keep it running well. Like many people that are interested in thisbike, I had one exactly like this when Iwas a child and made many fond memories. Now I am out of room in my garage andjust do not ride it very much so it is time to have a new admirer The little engine sounds great. The idle is set perfectly and it purrs like a kitten for a long time. It usually startson the first kick. It does not leak oilor burn oil excessively. The seat for instance shows somesigns of wear but it has no tears.Also, the seat shows the original Honda emblem on the back. The engine could use some polishing as it has a patina that would be expected from a motorcycle this old.It has many new parts: new carburetor,new rear brakes, new battery, new air filter, new speedometer cable, new fronttire, new headlight and a new headlight assembly.The speedometer reads 6265 miles. This is not accurate since the speedometer has not worked for 25 years until recently. We recently put a new speedometer cable on this and the speedometerand odometer now working. In the 25 years that I have on this machine, I have only rode it around the block a few times. While I have no way of truly knowing, I estimate that I have less than 20 miles on this little gem. I only use alcohol-free gasoline in aneffort to extend the carburetor life. Since this has a brand-new carburetor, Isuggest that the buyer continue to use only alcohol-free gasoline policy and itshould remain a trouble-free machine.Although not perfect, this is a really great machine and will make the right owner a terrific acquisition.Since it is 50 years old, and everyone understands it is not new, it is sold as is and no returns. So the prospective buyer is encouraged to look at the pictures, ask questions by email, and if close enough please comeand look at it.I never had a Title to this so it will be sold with a Bill of Sale only.
