1971 Road Runner440+6
This is a beautiful example of a very rare and nicely equipped 71 Road Runner. 1971 marked the pinnacle year of the Road Runner and the swan song of the 440 Six Barrel, the end of an era where performance came first and the incoming horsepower robbing smog rules were held off for one last performance hurrah.
This car is one of only 7 known to have originally equipped with the striking orange interior/orange paint combination, and the only known automatic so equipped. It came with may other popular options as well like the Air Grabber Hood, 4.10 Super Trac Pac Dana 60, in dash tachometer, and 15 x 7 Rallye Wheels. The spoiler package was added.
Body & Paint The car is a very clean dry original car with no rust history. It still wears much of its original factory applied paint but due to an accident early in life the drivers fender, grille, bumper, and associated parts were replaced with NOS parts (which were still available at the dealer back when it happened). There are no signs of any structural or frame damage, car is straight and beautiful, the car was only painted as required, it looks very nice and is presentable as is. The bottom of the car is clean, dry, and un-restored, the surface of the metal is clean and dry showing no signs of rust or corrosion, it's amazingly nice!
