Seller Description
1971 TRIUMPH DAYTONA T100R - 500CC TWIN
I have owned this machine since 2005 which has matching Engine/Frame numbers EE23984 T100R. It is an Australian delivery bike and was supplied through a Sydney dealer when new. I think I am the third owner.
I have carried out a lot of work but keeping it mostly original and running well. It was my Queensland Historic Motorcycle Club ride bike
Some parts have been chromed by a previous owner including: -
Prop stand, sissy bar, rear brake lever, front engine plates, brake rod, instrument mount, rear tail light mount and rear brake stay, wheel nuts and adjustors.
Some stainless parts fitted by me, including Meercat replica Megaphones to correct pattern for year (meerkatmufflers.com.au), rocker caps to original design, tappet adjuster plugs, socket head screws to timing cover, primary cover and rocker boxes.
Gearbox, top end of engine including cylinder head, front forks, rear swinging arm, rear wheel bearings all overhauled, rear shock absorbers replaced with KONI’s, and carburettors replaced with new Amal Concentrics’s,Instruments rebuilt. Boyer Ignition & coils fitted. A new rear chain and rear tyre have been fitted and battery replaced in the last six months
Has original Lucas leavers, controls indicators and cloth covered wiring harness
Mechanically excellent but not the original triumph colours for the year which should have been black and burnt orange But I think the red and silver and gold colour scheme is actually prettier! The finish to the tank has a few defects but the mudguards are good, the oil tank and tool box have been repainted.I have just changed the engine oil.
Some spares including the old parts that have been replaced and some new spares including reynolds primary chain, rear wheel nuts, points cover, NOS front tank reflectors, oil pressure gauge and oil filter kit which have not been fitted etc old cylinder head & timing cover, old carburettors, exhaust balance pipe, rear number plate mount and special tools including clutch locking disk & puller, tappet adjuster and fork nut spanner.
Sale includes genuine workshop manual, spares parts manual (valued at over $100), handbook, 1973 T100R Triumph brochure, 1971 Sales brochure (which shows the never released 350cc Bandit!) other items relevant to this mark. Also included are many magazines with articles about Daytona's, receipts and other doco.
Currently registered but selling unregistered, it will need new rubber fork gaiters for roadworthy (appx $50 pair) otherwise everything is working. Starts, stops and goes like a rocket!
Please contact me if you have any questions about the bike, which I will be more than happy to answer.I reserve the right to terminate this listing early as it is advertised elsewhere.
Must be fully paid for before collection by direct deposit, or cash on collection. Buyer is responsible for pickup from Carters Ridge, Qld 4563, or for shipping arrangements.
