Up for a No Reserve auction is a sweet 1972 Chevrolet K20 pickup truck. This truck was born in Fremont, California on March 8th, in 1972. For the last 48 years the truck has resided in Contra Costa County which is the eastern side of the San Francisco bay area. The mild climate of that enviroment has preserved this truck. It is a solid example of a 1972 Chevy K20.It is no secret 67-72 Chevy trucks are sought after because of their good looks and capabilities, that being said it is important to know the differences among the years and models because not all 67-72 trucks are createdequal.

By the end of the 1972 product line Chevy trucks were highly evolved and 1972 Chevrolet K20 was the highest capacity 4x4 you could buy. Essentially this truck is the most capable and and heaviest duty Chevy truck available, and to be 48 years old in a good solid condition like this this is an opportunitythat is not worth missing.
Cosmetically this truck is in good shape for a truck that is almost 50 years old. The body is pretty straight except for the drivers rear or the bed has a dent. The original Olive paint was repainted a darker Green and is in decent shape there are some spots on the hood where the clear coat is peeling. The originalegg crate grill is in great shape with no cracks. All the chrome and polished bumpers and emblems look great. For the most part this is a rust free truck. The floor boards don't have rust the rocker panels don't have rust except a small section on the passenger side with a little bubbling but no cancer stricken holes. Other than that this truck does NOT have the typical rust issues 67-72 trucks have. This is a very solid body. The bed is fairly straight and not beat to crap like many vintage 4x4 trucks. There is an original factory stamp still visible from the drivers rear wheel well on the outer frame from the date 3/8/72 when the truck was built in Fremont, California.
Step inside this truck is in good shape. The seat has no rips or tears and is very comfortable. The carpet is brand new and looks great. The dash pad has no rips or cracking. The new electric gaugeswork great and are much easier to read especiallyat night. A functional Tachometer is now a prominent guage. This is a factory AC truck with all the originalfactory AC vent holes. It would be easy to set up AC again and use all the original plumbing and vents. The only negative is the radio was removed. The door panels are in good shape the window reels work but should be replaced the gears are starting to smooth out. There is a dealer installed rifle rack in the truck.
Mechanicallythis truck is in good shape. The 350cid V8 runs strong. It was rebuilt in the last decade and has had some performance add bolt ons like an edelbrock intake manifold, carburator and valve covers. An MSD ignition box and distributor was added, as well as an electric fan. The TH350 shifts smooth in all gears and reverse. The truck has a nice sound but not obnoxious with the performance headers and exhaust. This truck is equppt from the factory with a heavier duty chassis with heavier duty leaf springs and front and rear shocks. There is a hefty rear sway bar installedon the truck as well.
