I CAME ACROSS A COUPLE OF BEAUTIFUL CONDITION OLD MOTORCYCLES LAST SPRING AT A LOCAL ESTATE SALE,THIS 72 KAWASAKI f-8 AND A 68 HONDA CL 175, THEY WERE COVERED UP IN THE BACK CORNER OF A VERY NICELY KEPT GARAGE , I WAS TOLD BY THE GRANDSON THEY WERE NOT FOR SALE , AFTER LINGERING AROUND LOOKING AT THE VARIOUS ITEMS FOR A WHILE I ASK THE OLD WOMAN IF THE BIKES WERE FOR SALE ,SHE ASK ME WHAT I WOULD GIVE SO I UNCOVERED THEM TOOK A GOOD LOOK AND MADE A OFFER , SHE SAID THAT SOUNDED GOOD TO HER,I STARTED TO PAY FOR THE BIKES WHEN THE GRANDSON GOT WIND OF WHAT WAS HAPPENING HE HAD A FIT, THEN ANOTHER CUSTOMER CHIMED IN AND INFORMED GRANNY THAT SHE WAS GIVING THE BIKES AWAY THEY WERE WORTH THOUSANDS, AND HE WOULD PAY ALOT MORE ,I DONT THINK THE IDIOT HAD TEN BUCKS TO HIS NAME BUT WAS A INSTANT KNOW IT ALL APPRAISER . HAVE YOU EVER WANTED TO PUNCH SOMEONE IN THE MOUTH. I TOLD THE GUY THE DEAL WAS DONE AND HE NEEDED TO MIND HIS OWN BUSINESS ,ANYWAY TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT GRANNY CHANGED HER MIND ,THE BIKES WERENT FOR SALE ANYMORE ,AND A FAMILY FUDE STARTED. SO I LEFT MY PHONE NUMBER AND TOLD HER IF SHE CHANGED HER MIND TO CALL ME, I FIGURED I WOULD NEVER HEAR FROM THEM AGAIN. ABOUT 3 MONTHS LATER I GOT A CALL FROM THE SON INLAW WHO TOLD ME ALL ABOUT THE BIKES, HE SAID THEY BOTH RAN AND WERE THE DECEASED DADS TOYS ,HE ASK IF I STILL HAD INTREST BUT THE HONDA HAD BEED DAMAGED ,THEY DROPPED A HEAVY ANTENNA FROM THE RAFTERS IN THE GARAGE A DAMAGED THE GAS TANK,THE GUY SAID THEY COULDENT FIND THE TITLES ,HE ASK ME IF I WAS STILL INTRESTED, YES I WAS STILL VERY INTERESTED. I KNEW I HAD TO OWN THESE MACHINES, I WENT BACK OVER TO TAKE ANOTHER LOOK AND AFTER NEGOTATING I AGREED TO PAY 4 TIMES MY ORIGINAL OFFER AND WAS HAPPY TO DO SO. YOU JUST DONT SEE OLD ORIGINAL BIKES LIKE THIS EVERYDAY, THEY ARENT OUT THERE I LOOK FOR STUFF LIKE THIS AND THEY ARE FEW AND FAR BETWEEN. I GOT HURT LAST SUMMER AND HAVE FALLEN BEHIND ON MORE IMPORTANT THINGS ,I HAVE DECIDED TO START SELLING OFF MY COLLECTION,I DONT HAVE TIME AND AM LOOSING INTREST .I HAVE TOO MANY MISC VEHICLES AND NOT ENOUGH TIME . MY WIFE AND I ARE WANTING TO MOVE OVERSEAS AND RETIRE AND MY WIFE IS PUSHING ME TO SELL OUT ,ITS TIME TO PART WITH THIS STUFF I CANT TAKE IT WITH ME.,IM LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO REALIZES WHAT THIS REALLY IS AND IS WILLING TO GIVE IT THE LOVE AND ATTENTION IT DESERVES,ITS A NICE COLLECTOR PIECE.AND PRICED TO SELL.
THIS IS A LOW MILE 72 F-8 BISON 250 TWO STROKE ENDURO, THEY WERE NOT THAT RARE BACK IN THE DAY ,THEY WERE WONDERFUL WELL BUILT MACHINES THEY NOW HAVE BECOME VALUABLE COLLECTORS. GOING UP IN VALUE EVERY YEAR. AND THEY ARE NOT EZ TO FIND ESPECIALLY IN THIS CONDITION. THE BIKE IS A VERY CLEAN ORIGINAL SURVIVOR,IT SHOWS NO SIGN OF EVER BEEN LAID DOWN OR DROPPED,ALL PAINT IS ORIGINAL ,TIRES ARE ORIGINAL WITH JAPANESE AIR STILL INSIDE,NO FLAT SPOTS OR ROT,CHROME RIMS ARE NICE AND CLEAN, NO LOOSE SPOKES,NICE SPROCKETS ,FORKS ARE STRAIGHT AS WELL AS HANDLEBARS, FORK SEALS ARE NOT LEAKING AND SUSPENSION FEELS TIGHT, BIKE ROLLS VERY EZ AND BRAKES ARE WORKING. THE ORIGINAL SEAT COVER, HAS A SMALL MOUSE CHEW HOLE IN BACK, "SEE PICS "FENDERS ARE METAL AND STRAIGHT, ALL ORIGINAL RUBBER ON HAND GRIPS, FOOT PEGS ETC, NICE EXHAUST PIPE, NOT BENT OR BANGED UP, UNDERCARRAGE IS VERY NICE, NO SCRAPES DENTS IN FRAME, ALL WELDS LOOK GREAT. NO RUST OR EXCESSIVE PITTING MINOR PAINT CHIPS ON TANK AND VARIOUS SPOTS COMMON WITH USED BIKE ALSO THE ORIGINAL TOOL KIT IS MISSING BUT TOOL BOX IS IN GREAT SHAPE ,DONT EXPECT BRAND NEW, ITS NOT, BUT IT HAS NEVER BEEN ABUSED PRIDE OF OWNERSHIP IS EVIDENTI WOULD BET YOU WONT FIND ANOTHER ORIGINAL ONE THIS GOOD .THEY JUST ARENT THERE.
I DID GET THE BIKE RUNNING,I ADDED FRESH 93 OCTAINE RICH 20:1 MIX IT STARTED ON THE SECOND KICK TO MY SUPRISE , THE TANK WAS DRY WHEN I GOT IT, SOMEONE WAS SMART ENOUGH TO DRAIN FUEL FOR THE TIME THAT IT SAT. BEFORE I STARTED THE BIKE I PRE MIXED THE FUEL BECAUSE PRIOR EXPERIANCE HAS TAUGHT ME NOT TO TRUST OLD OIL INJECTION PUMPS ON VINTAGE TWO STROKES, ANYWAY THE BIKE RAN AT A VERY HI IDLE, I COULD NOT GET IT TO IDLE DOWN, IT RUNS SUPER STRONG , AND SOUNDS GREAT,I ENDED UP REMOVING THE CARB AND DISCOVERED THE RUBBER BOOT AROUND CARB HAD SHRUNK AND WAS POSSIBLY SUCKING AIR, AND THE THROTTLE CABLE WAS PULLING UP, DUE TO SHRUNKEN RUBBER BOOT I HAVE TRIED TO SOFTEN THIS BOOT UP WITH NO SUCESS , A FRIEND SUGGESTED SOAKING IN CARB CLEANER TO SOFTEN IT BUT I NEVER DID,THIS WILL NEED ATTENTION OR REPLACED TO RUN PROPERLY, IM SURE ONE IS AVALIABLE SOMEWHERE OR YOU MIGHT HAVE BETTER LUCK GETTING THE OLD ONE PLYABLE AGAIN. EXHAUST HEAT SHIELD IS ALSO MISSING I WAS PROMISED THE CHROME HEAT SHIELD FOR THE EXHAUST WHEN THEY FOUND IT, I NEVER GOT A CALL AND THEY HAVE SINCE SOLD OUT AND MOVED ,SO ITS MISSING THE HEAT SHIELD, COULD USE A NEW OIL INJECTOR CABLE IF YOU DESIRE TO USE THE FACTORY OIL INJECTOR ,I DAMAGED THE ORIGINAL ONE MAY BE FIXABLE HAVENT TRIED, ITS DISCONECTED, OTHERWISE THIS IS THE BIKE,VERY NICE RESTO CANIDATE OR NICE OLD RIDER WITH A LITTLE MONEY AND SOME TLC,IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS JUST ASK BEFORE BIDDING ,BE HAPPY TO ANWSERWILL BE SELLING AS IS WHERE ISBILL OF SALE ONLY " TITLE HAS BEEN MISPLACED" IF IT EVER EVEN HAD ONE
