Seller Description

The 1973
model year marked the end of an era for Jaguar, as it was one of the final
production year for the E-Type, wich ended in 1974 , one of Jaguars most
celebrated post-war models. Throughout its transition from the Series I
3.

8-liter inline-six to the Series III powered by a 5.3-liter V-12, the E-Type
had remained an icon of British engineering and design. Over the E-Types 13
years of production, it had evolved into a comfortable grand tourer, and the
V-12 cars were the pinnacle of that evolution. The addition of a V-12 engine
over the earlier straight-six meant an increase in available power. Other
mechanical changes included a new suspension and wider track.
Its
combination of beauty, high performance, and competitive pricing established
the E-Type as an icon of the motoring world. The car's claimed 150 mph top
speed, sub-seven-second 0 to 60 mph acceleration, monocoque construction, disc
brakes, rack-and-pinion steering and independent front and rear suspension
distinguished the car and spurred industry-wide changes..
Twelve-cylinder
E-Types are praised by enthusiasts for the power and torque provided by their
engines, and they are excellent long-distance drivers. This Series III E-Type 2+2
represents excellent value for the money, as it combines one of the 20th
centurys best automotive designs with the history that only a V-12-powered
European coupe can provide.
The
striking look of the factory wire wheels set this XKE apart from the rest and
the automatic transmission makes the car a joy to drive in the city, country or
on the highway making it a female friendly and comfortable driver. This is a
proper example and is a pleasure
to drive and even show, if desired.
There are
many E-Types on the market but you will rarely find a V-12 XKE in such good
cosmetic and mechanic condition that is all sorted out with over $25k Canadian at our cost in mechanical reconditioning
making this one ready to enjoy immediately upon delivery. If you have never
experienced a 1973 V-12 E-Type Jaguar with
the magnificent sound coming from the 4 tailpipes right behind you then
you owe it to yourself to do so and call us to discuss this mazing sportscar
that even Enzo Ferrari said upon seeing it for the first time at the Geneva
auto show in 1961 that the Jaguar E-Type is the most beautiful car ever made.
Please call us for a complete walk around description as well as a on the spot
facetime video. The E-Type was based on Jaguar's D-Type racing car, which had won the 24 Hours of Le Mans three consecutive years beginning 1955 and employed what was, for the early 1960s, a novel racing design principle: a front subframe carrying the engine, front suspension and front bodywork bolted directly to the body tub. No ladder frame chassis, common at the time, was needed and the first cars weighed only 2,900 pounds.
Dressed now
in British racing green livery ,car was
born in red ,colour was changed by the previous owner, who was a professional
car painter . The car’s paint and trim are in overall
excellent condition with minor blemishes. Black Connolly leather with a nice patina , almost like the confortable chersterfield you have at home . The car’s windows, including the rear
window with a defroster grid, and lights are in very good order while the body
is solid and straight; the engine bay extremely tidy, the battery looks good,
the cargo area is in very good condition. The car’s chrome bumpers, complete
with front overriders, are also in very good condition. Car start and drives as it should . These cars are a very good investment , you get a lot of car for the money . Values are rising rapidly for good , clean examples .
recent mechanical work-4 brand new carburetors with linkages-new gas tank with pump ,, lines , gasket and filters-new brake booster and master-5 new belts-new electronic ignition system-new coolant hoses
This car
rides on Bridgestone Turanza radials,
size 195-65-15 at every corner. Each tire is mounted to a wire wheel with OEM
wheels . The tires have good tread depth and are in very good order, as are the
wheels. There is a matching spare tire and wire wheel under the upholstered
cargo floor.
