This is a very rare muscle car and one of the highest performance muscle cars available to purchase new in its day. This a genuine, documented, 1973 Pontiac Firebird Formula 455 Ram air. The formula models with the base 350ci engine, the most common 400ci V8, the much rarer 455 big block V8 and only a handful with a 455ci Super Duty models which these days fetch in excess of $200,000 at sale.This particular car is the 455ci Ram air version and was fitted with a large number (29) of factory options. Some of the options include 455ci V8, Muncie 4 speed manual, power steering, power brakes, performance suspension, rare trans am instrument cluster, formula steering wheel, rally II wheels, tinted glass and more. It is believed only 213 455ci V8, 4 speed Formulas were built in 1973 and in this colour scheme with these options this car could well be a 1 of 1 specification.The car was a true barn find in the US, covered with dust but all there and complete.

It has received a repaint in the original regatta blue, a full engine rebuild, rebuilt radiator, new exhaust system and new windscreen. The engine in the car is a replacement 455ci (correctly date coded for 1973) and has been fully rebuilt with ram air IV cam (same as the super duty) Edelbrock performer intake manifold and ported cylinder heads with 9:1 compression ratio. The owner believes the car makes approximately 450hp in its current form.Inside the interior is all neat and tidy, the trim has is neat and tidy without any rips or tears. The front seats have been recovered in the original pattern and the carpets were replaced. The car comes with a large documentation file which includes a copy of the original build sheet confirming the car is a genuine 4 speed Ram air 455 car. It also contains a large number of receipts and documentation relating to the car.
