Seller description

1974 Honda CB550K Cafe racer. One owner the last 11 years. Essentially every fastener on the bike was polished, replaced with chrome or stainless. Ill give a short list, but have almost certainly forgotten a few items. The bike was completely disassembled and re-assembled in 2[hidden information]. In the 11 years I have owned it I have put only 500-600 miles on it, going to shows and some vintage rides. Ill list out some of the highlights. Cases were split, jugs honed, new oem pistons, rings, cam chain & cam chain tensioner.Installed a CB650 cam, ported heads, new valve seals, lapped valve seats and adjusted valves/ tensioner. Installed new points plate and advancer, new coils, resistor plugs and plugs.New clutch frictions, springs, cable.Completely disassembled carbs, sandblasted and ultrasonic cleaned, new carb kits, floats, installed 110 mains, uni pod filters and   synchronized carbs, polished caps and installed new throttle cables. New o-ring chain, both sprockets. New front brakes and caliper last year.Stainless front brake hosesRims laced, new Shinko tires installed and balanced.New bearings in front and rear hubs.Front forks and triple tree from 76 CB550Custom air tech fiberglass seat with padding, CB500T fuel tank, flip cap removed and twist cap installed. Frame de-tabbed, sandblasted and painted.Tazarroti  rear-sets and clip-ons. New AGM battery Pingle High flow petcock.NOS Redwing shocksHarness cleaned, electrical center, components removed, sandblasted and painted.Mac 4-1 header with Custom peashooter muffler.
The Bike runs good and goes great, the CB650 cam really makes it peppy and a blast to ride. I have won multiple shows with this bike and it really is a nice build. I am an ASE Master Technician, I take pride in my work,  & attention to detail. This was not built in my moms basement, lots of fabrication and planning went into the build, and hopefully it shows. Maine is a NON TITLE STATE. That means Maine will not issue a title for Vehicles this old. Most states accept a current registration from the state of Maine. Please do your homework and check the laws in your state.
I finished the build almost 10 years ago and it does have a scratch on the tail behind the seat, about an inch long. There is some minor chipping on the paint near the RF of the rear pan. When the gas cap was cut off, and the twist cap welded in there is some small bubbling in 3 areas in the paint, all no bigger than a dime and right near the cap. I have a color matched front fender that was painted but never installed it. It will come with the sale. Also included are a chain guard, engine breather hose, new oil filter  and a new rear led light assembly. Someone bumped the one currently on the bike and broke off one of the two mounting tabs. It works fine, so I never installed the new one. All of the lights work as well as the horn. The kick starter is there, but the RH rear set peg needs to be removed to use it. It comes off in 2 min with a 17mm wrench. The electric starter works just fine, so I have never had to kick it. The bike does not have a speedometer or an odometer. I use my phone and a speed app for MPH and don't have a odometer installed. I installed a chrome cover in the speedometer hole.
I have many more photos, if you would like something specific please message me. I would like a $500 paypal deposit within 24 hours of purchase. I can assist with shipping. I work at a Truck dealership right off the highway, there is plenty of space for a truck and trailer of any size. There is a truck stop across the street. I can assist with loading on a truck if needed.  The bike is for sale locally (craig$list) as well. Thanks for looking.
