Seller Description
You are bidding on one 1975 BMW R90/6 in exceptional condition, with 20,077 original miles. I purchased this bike from the original owner with only 10,888 miles on the dial. The bike was "Ridden Mildly and put away wet" when I got it; it needed a lot of restoration even though it was running when purchased. The bike had sat for a long time in the garage until the owner's son decided to ride it. The son actually took ownership from his dad with only 4000 miles on it- so the base gaskets and other seals were seeping a little oil, and the bike just looked cruddy from neglect. When I got the bike, I put it through a full restoration. It has had everything done from stem to stern. New wheels with stainless spokes done by Woody's Wheel Works in Denver CO., the hubs were bead blasted and had new bearings installed. The engine had a complete top end refresh, using new base and head gaskets, and decarbonizing the heads. I rebuilt the carbs, installed all new cables, installed LED lights into the instrument panel, bought a new headlight, installed an EME Enduralast 450Watt alternator, and an EME electronic ignition into the bike as well. The transmission was refreshed with new seals and the upgraded "Shift Kit" in the shifting mechanism as well. The mufflers are the EPCO Sport Mufflers (Very Hard to find, they are hand made in stainless steel). Progressive front fork springs, and new seals and fork boots, as well as a Phast by Phillips front for brace was installed as well.
New steering head bearings and steering dampener was installed. A new set of KONI shocks are mounted at the rear. The gas tank has a small ding that I tried to do a repair on; the ding was a small dime sized dent from a tool falling on the bike in my garage. I just did not have the heart to repaint the tank just yet- the paint is the original paint! Overall, the bike is in fantastic condition, and is an absolute pleasure to ride. Everything works as it should. I have a folder of receipts over an inch thick, as I spared no expense in bringing this bike back to better than new condition. The seat is the original seat, and is in excellent condition. Comes with the tire pump, owner's manual and original tool kit as well! Whatever this bike needed, I took care of it! This R90 runs like a dream; it'll just go all day long! I have it in perfectly tuned condition. I never thought I would sell this bike; but from the time I got this, I have completely built two more R90's from the ground up- one cafe" racer with a full race R90S blueprinted engine I built, and one Frankenbeemer R90 street scrambler project in the works now. I love these bikes! All that being said, I'm selling this bike "as-is" with no warranties expressed or implied. Winning bidder is responsible for all costs and arrangement for shipping. Local pick up is also welcome. I would like the transaction to be complete within two weeks of auction close; please contact me if you need more time. Feel free to ask any questions, I'll do my best to get back to you in a timely manner. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
