The Triumph TR6 was the ultimate incarnation of the chassis-based Triumph TR series that had begun with the TR2 in 1953. It ran from late 1968 to 1976, just under 95,000 were built, with 91% exported, mainly of course, to the US. Many saw the TR6 as the last of a breed of hairy chested British sports cars, and as the only appropriate replacement for the Austin Healey 3000, which had ceased production in 1968. The TR6 featured a 4-speed manualtransmission. Overdrive transmission was available as an optional. Brakes were discs at the front and drums at the rear. The dashboard was walnut veneer. This particular TR6 is the last year this car was produced and was fitted with overdrive which is in affect a 5th gear speed for highway cruising. This TR6 has had the same owner since 1978 and has been very well maintained by him. The car has never been crashed or rusted and has had one respray in the original Triumph racing green.

The paint is a high quality with deep luster. The factory floors are still showing the red oxide primer as never having been undercoated. The reflective stripe factory top, tan boot cover and black tonneau cover are all original pieces and not replacements. The seats, carpets, door panels, show little wear and are also original not replacements. The near perfect wood dash is a real treasure. The car has been fitted with new SU carburetors replacing the Strombergs for easier starting and better performance. Recently installed Redline tires.
