1978 Rickman

I am selling my 1978 Rickman Kawasaki (900 cc). This
motorcycle I am told is in the Rickman Registry and was sold new by D&A
Kawasaki in Trevose, Pennsylvania, not 3 miles from my home which is its
current location. I have know the bike for over 30 years from the original
owner to me with one owner in between. I purchased this Rickman from the "Estate
of Ken Smith" who was the second owner and longtime friend.

I can tell you this motorcycle was as the saying goes “Ridden
Hard and Put Away Wet”, but always well maintained by the original owner. It is
my understanding that the original owner replaced the original 900cc Kawasaki engine
with a new 900cc Kawasaki “crate motor” that he had purchased from a Kawasaki
dealer years earlier and this current engine supposedly has less than 1000
miles on it. I have no documentation to support this.

Upon my purchasing the bike from “The Estate of
Kenneth Smith” I checked the fluids, installed a new battery, fresh gas and she
“fired right up”, unfortunately on 2 cylinders. I had a professional
Suzuki/Kawasaki mechanic remove, clean and synchronize the carburetors. The
bike fired up on all 4 cylinders and seems to run as expected. I last had this
bike running in April of this year, 2018.

During the past 10 years the Rickman has spent most of
its’ life sitting inside Ken’s a garage with little use. I have put roughly 25
miles on it and the major mechanicals all appeared to function as expected.
Clutch, transmission, brakes functioned smoothly.

I am not a Rickman efficiento, however I believe the
bodywork to be original as is the nickel plated frame and swingarm. I would
suggest that anyone purchasing this motorcycle spend the time going through the
mechanicals and cleaning her up. The paintwork is not up to my standards
however it was  acceptable to Ken and
others who knew the bike.
This motorcycle is currently registered in my name with a clear Pennsylvania title.

Personal inspections are welcomed and encouraged, every effort
will be made to accommodate you or your representative to inspect the bike.
This motorcycle as is the case with most motorcycles of this vintage is being
sold AS IS with no warranty either expressed or implied!

A $500.00 Non Refundable PayPay deposit within 48 hours is
expected, ALL checks or wire transfers for final payment must clear prior to
motorcycle being released to purchaser.

ALL shipping and handling arrangements are the purchaser’s
responsibility. Every effort will be made to work with the shipper of your
