1979 Honda XR185 Previous owner restored the XR (2 years ago) for his grandson who after after restoration wanted a larger street bike. As you can see from the photos the bike is in extremely good condition. I purchased the motorcycle to show at vintage and antique motorcycle events. Never ridden in the dirt. In fact, the entire motorcycle has less than 10 miles on the odometer since restoration. Bike is kept in my workshop.
History: Running for just one year the XR185 when launched in 1979 was the stripped down lighter version of the XL185S. It's credentials were emphatically stamped with a six speed box, powerful 185cc engine and superb chassis. In a four machine enduro test in 1979, 'Cycle World' stated "We rate the XR185 as far and away the best of the four thanks to it's outstanding engine performance, superior suspension compliance and excellent overall handling ability" Because they were made for just one year, rarity has driven up the values of one of Honda's sweetest enduros from the 1970's.
Note: 1.) Odometer shows 7204 miles (less than 10 miles after restoration) 2.) Tripmeter knob was broken and previous owner did replace. 3.) front and rear wheels have been powder coated black - I like the look of these rims. 4.) Front and rear fenders are not factory replacements but good for riding off road. 5.) Fuel tank has small blemishes in paint. 6.) Overall the previous owner took time to restore this rare one year Honda XR185.
Owner will help with shipping. Will store motorcycle in workshop until shipping company arrives. Available for local pickup as well.
