This is a gorgeous, all original RARE 1979 T140D. Chrome is near perfect, tyres still with 95% tread, all electronics function and work as they should. This bike has had an entire brake system overhaul including a front caliber rebuild, new rear master cylinder and break lines. Time it goes to a someone who is going to enjoy it this summer. Beautiful bike worthy of becoming a 'show' bike, or enjoy it as is. The sound of this thing! It has a small oil drip, as all of these Triumph's do.
A little description of this bike as found online;
"Launched in 1979 and designed by Triumph's Tom Higham, the Triumph T140D Bonneville Special was a styling exercise inspired by the Yamaha XS 650 Special. Several T140D features such as the top-mounted rear disc caliper and revised grabrail became standard on the T140E. The Bonneville Specials were finished in gold-pinstriped black with a stepped seat and seven-spoke US-made Lester mag-alloy wheels and a tuned two-into-one exhaust for the US market.It's estimated that only 2000 of these special editions were made."
