: | This 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 was sold new at Brooks Biddle Chevrolet in Bothell, Washington with an MSRP $30,191. It is finished in a custom two-tone black and gold finish, which was reportedly applied by the selling dealer at the original owner’s request. It was acquired in 1989 by the second owner, a Delorean enthusiast and engineer by trade, with whom it remained until 2018. I purcahsed it from the third owner two years ago and now have to sell it. Power comes from a 2.85-liter PRV V6 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Brooks Biddle Chevrolet was reportedly offering in-house DeLorean painting when the cars were new in an effort to move leftover inventory. The gold and black scheme was reportedly chosen by the first owner, who was an avid Nascar fan and inspired Smokey Yunick |
