Used 1981 Honda CT110
Seller Description
This 1981 Honda CT110 finished in a one-year only Tahitian Red has just 106 miles and spent nearly all of its’ 40 years stored in a steel tractor shed located in the high desert. The original owner drove the motorcycle for less than a year and then parked it after fully draining the fuel systems and wrapping the tires. The bike runs well, shifts smoothly, starts on the first kick and has plenty of torque.
Overall it is totally original (including the tires) with the exception of a new vinyl seat which was professionally reupholstered. This CT110 is now offered with a manufacturer’s tool kit and a clean Nevada title in the seller’s name. The 1981 CT110 features dual range sub-transmission and has a number of features that make this model year unique including a Down Tube Cover which matches the frame color, a Battery & Tool Kit side Cover (same as frame color) and a black Exhaust with chrome heat shield. The power is supplied by a 105cc four-stroke single with an overhead camshaft mated to a four-speed transmission with an automatic clutch. This was the last year for a condenser / points ignition system. When new, the fuel economy was listed at 140mpg and the engine made 7.6hp at 7500rpm. Uphill climbs are enabled by the 2:1 ratio gear reduction box, essentially creating 4 “low” and 4 “high” gears. The low gear reduction and rideability of the CT100 defines the bike’s character, allowing riders to crawl up challenging terrains with confidence; no drama, no fuss, just steady progress.A 1.5-gallon fuel tank is mounted beneath the front-hinged flip-up saddle, and a 0.60-gallon auxiliary fuel tank is held in place on the left side of the rear fender by a locking strap that doubles as a helmet holder. Equipment includes a headlight, a taillight, turn signals, mirrors, and a horn, along with a low-mounted color-keyed front fender, a rear pack rack, a side stand and the factory center stand. Close-up photos show some signs of wear, minor scratches, and imperfections but very little work was needed to make this bike shine.Service in preparation for the sale included cleaning the carburetor jets, replacement of the battery, changing the oil, and replacing the fuel lines. The Chrome-finished 17″ rims are wrapped in the original Yokohama semi-knobby tube tire to black-finished hubs with drum brakes that are cable-operated up front and rod-actuated at the rear. Suspension is handled by a telescopic front fork with black accordion boots and a swing-arm rear with dual shocks. Sale includes an extra set of brand new DOT approved Shinko 2.75x17 SR241 series dual sport tires (with tubes). The headlight bucket features an integrated 60-mph Nippon Seiki speedometer that shows shift points for all four gears. The 600 mile “Caution Break-In Mileage” sticker appropriately remains on the cover glass. The five-digit odometer shows a little over 106 miles.
