history: I bought this bike from a young man that was gifted it by his
grandfather-he didn’t want it so sold it as a none running bike. He had no other information to supply, but I
believe the bike started life out as an Interstate based upon
the fairing and brackets for the missing saddle bags and helmet trunk. The fact it didn’t run, but turns over,
concerned me a little, but as the person who bought my last project bike (Honda
360T) told me..”It’s a Honda-if it turns over, it will start-it’s always
something little”.
I
am not a mechanic-oil changes are about it for me. I’ve learned over the years
not to even get into the mechanics because I have no knowledge and it
frustrates me. I buy bikes like this for something to do since I’m retired-I am
more of a body/fender guy, so I take these bikes apart-replace what is missing,
paint/repair/replace parts and re-install them.
With
that said-this is a non-running bike that turns over easily, has a current and
clean Ohio title, shifts thru all the gears. The tank has been
drained and currently has no gas in it-I am notgoing to try to start it
since I don’t have the knowledge to diagnosis the non-starting issue, plus the tank needs to be off to install the choke cable.I have
replaced the missing side covers, changed oil/filter, installed a new air
filter/air box, installed a new battery and replaced the fuel mesh filter in
the tank ($37-ouch), purchased a new choke cable (currently not installed),
painted all body parts and re-fitted them: it has newer tires.

The
fairing was hammered-if it wasn’t a OEM fairing I would have thrown it away and
replaced the headlight assembly with a new headlight bucket. One of the previous owners installed a radio,
speakers, CB, micro-phone, compass, and drilled holes for things I can’t
identify. I fiber glassed all the
butchered holes and installed covers.
Storage compartments are still there and can be accessed by
removingthe plastic trim plugs. The radio is not installed; I have no idea if
it works or not, but is included in the sale. The speakers are not wired and
may be trash-they are there only because I could not patch those holes. The rear foot pegs/muffler support brackets
are not installed, but are included in the sale.
