Seller Description
1982 SUZUKI RM 250ZThis is my 1982 RM 250Z.I spent a ridiculous amount of money restoring it to as close to showroom new as possible as this was the bike I raced in 1982 and I wanted to recreate it as close to new.I think when I bought mine new it was like $2500… my how times have changed.Almost everything is NOS OEM at very great expense, the list of new nuts, bolts, axles, etc is too much to list. The only things not OEM are the tires, exhaust, seat cover, bars/grips and gaskets. All painted parts were powder coated and the exhaust received ceramic coating. The swingarm was taken to a local shop to have all the scratches and scrapes removed then was re-anodized.Engine was rebuilt by local dealer with NOS cylinder. It had to be re-sleeved due to the original sleeve chipping from age.Bottom end was rebuilt about 10 hours ago and was confirmed to be fine working order.Every nut and bolt is either replated original or NOS.All the rear suspension bearings, bushings, etc. were replaced with NOS parts.(This is very expensive, if memory serves over $500) It also has NOS plastics, perches, levers, etc.The fuel tank was professionally polished and looks great.Front and rear suspension was sent to RaceTech for a complete rebuild with gold valves and re-sprung for a 200lb vet.I rode this bike extensively prior to the restoration and the suspension was amazing.Suzuki really had it nailed back in the day. Also included are the plastics, and seat that were on it when I bought the bike, the original rear spring as well as quite a few spare NOS parts that were duplicate purchased during the restoration. The only things this bike needs to be perfect is the hubs powder coated, a fresh set of spokes, rear sprocket and new tires. That would put a cherry on the top.I never put a chain or fluids in it as It’s been on display in my man cave for a few years.I have nearly $10,000 invested in it to this point.Buy it for 50 cents on the dollar. There is no way to build one this nice for the same money, I will hate to see it go, but I know only someone who remembers this bike as fondly as I do will want to purchase it.This bike doesn’t have a title.I never had a title for mine years ago, it just wasn’t the norm for an off-road racer. If you need help with transportation, I have a reliable shipper I’ve used for years that can give you a bid.He doesn’t go everywhere but does get back East fairly regularly. If you have any other questions please send me a message.
I’m an honest reliable seller that has been on eBay for years.Buy with confidence.A $500 non-refundable PayPal deposit is due 2 days from winning the bike.Remainder of funds to be via wire, or I will accept PayPal if you pay the fees.
