Up for sale is �Dot. she was a 998cc 1983 Mini Mayfair which is now fitted with a very strong 1275cc MG Metro engine. although shes still registered as a 998. MOT until February 2014. Taxed until end July 2013. she is rust free as before the engine was installed she was the subject of a complete strip down and full respray from her original yellow to a very fetching Red with a black roof. during which time any rust was cut out and new metal welded in. At the same time. a roll cage was also installed which has made her feel far more stable during enthusiastic cornering ;) We have owned Dot for just over a year and in this time she has some work done to replace items that were acquired second hand during her rebuild including new coil. new fuel tank sensor. new front discs brake pads and refurbishing the starter motor. She now starts. runs and stops like a dream! We would love to keep Dot but we are gluttons for punishment and have another mini that requires a lot of work and cannot afford to keep both :( Bad points: Although Dot has covered less than 1000 miles in our ownership.

the mileage got stuck a couple of weeks ago. The speedometer still works though. There is a small dent in the nearside rear pillar acquired when left in a car park but its nothing major. Paint work is good. however there are a few areas where for some reason the paint has not adhered to the primer and has bubbled slightly. All in all a good solid. fun and fast mini that is cheap to run and insure. Even with her modifications declared it costs us less to insure Dot than our younger standard Rover Mini!
