I bought this bike in 2007 from the estate of the original owner, He died intestate so it was a hassle getting it titled by my DMV because I had to jump through a bunch of hoops to prove he was dead. Nonetheless, I have had a free and clear title since 2009. I learned from this experience to never buy a motorcycle from a dead guy. .It had 22,000 miles on it when I bought it and was in great condition, kept in a heated garage its whole life. I decided to disassemble it down to the frame, which was prepped and powder coated. The paint on the tank and fenders was beautiful so I left them original. I knew this model was prone to valve recession because of hard valve seats so the head was sent to Ted Porter's Beemer Shop in California for unleaded valve seats, valves, guides, springs, new pistons, and dual plugging (see photo). Dual plugging substantially improves performance and fuel economy. I have the receipts for this work. The engine was then rebuilt by a certified airplane mechanic A & P --(airframe and powerplant). He is very meticulous and routinely rebuilds airplane engines which are typically boxers. Forks were rebuilt with new seals,carburetors rebulilt, new Keihan stainless steel exhaust mufflers ($$$), Wilbers rear shocks ($900.00, I have receipt), new Baker kickstand. Tires were new at time of restoration. Only 1,000 miles have been put on the bike since restoration, and they have been completely trouble free. I have been selling off my collection of 15 motorcycles in preparation for a move back to my wife's home state of Florida. This is one of the two I have left, and can only keep one----Sophie's choice. My restored R90 won by a nose so the R100 is on the block. I will only sell to the lower 48 states and buyer must pick up bike. I live in far western Nebraska 3 hours north of Denver.
