1983 Honda XR500R
Here we have my stunning restored XR500R. Classic big
thumper. I bought it from a local chap who imported it from the US in 2015.
Comes with a full MOT. Will become MOT and Tax exempt in a couple of years.
Qualifies for classic insurance which is dirt cheap.
When I bought the bike it was in good condition just a bit
tired. Mechanically spot on.
I stripped the bike and briefly carried out the following.
Powder coat of frame, silencer and other ancillaries. New SM
Pro wheels and Maxxis tyres. Engine painted in correct grade paint and lacquer.
New brake pads. New gold Renthal bars and Grips.

New decals and paint. New HDR gold
chain and sprocket set. Fresh oil and filter. Carbs cleaned and new fuel lines.
There will be more that I’ve forgotten. Seat cover is
original and in remarkable condition.
Starts on the button if you have big boots on :-) its a big 500 single !!! Just been out for a 10 mile ride out and it does pull like a
train in every gear, feels nice and tight and really does get looks. Sounds awesome.
These classic bikes are a fantastic investment, far better
than money in the bank and much more fun.
