This is a 1983 Mercedes Benz 380SL Roadster. It has been off the road and in storage for a few years.It is a project.It does not run. it needs engine work. It needs a new starter. And what else I do not know ,I got it from a local tow company. Mostly because it had such a beautiful body with no rust or damage.They must of towed it in after something or other happened to the engine. Both valve covers were removed. The left head has all the rocker arms removed and only one is still there loose. The right side looks compete. There is no starter, I turned the engine over by hand so the engine is not frozen or stuck,. oil does not look bad, no holes or damage to the pan or block.

So I am unsure if someone was going to try and rebuild the engine. Or were just going to work the heads. Or something else. But with a body as nice, clean ,rustfree and solid as this one is, it will be worth it to work with the engine to get it up and running again. It shows 167,000 miles on the odometer.. The paint looks to be factory original. This car is as rustfree and nice as you will probably find. The chrome is excellent all around. No previous accident or body work. A couple of the rims have some chrome loss and need to be reconditioned. The hardtop is a beauty. Glass is nice. Paint is flat and burnt in many places from the Arizona sunshine. Interior is original and needs attention here and there, but overall not too bad. This is a lot of car for the money. With some engine work, this will be a great car again. On that, plan for the worse, hope for the best. You can not go wrong working with body as nice as this one is.Clean straight title.I travel around mostly the West Coast and might be able to get it to you or close for reasonable money.
