This is a "P" type Supra. A Japanese performance car. Built with a "Hi-revving" 2.8 L fuel-injected 6 cyl engine. The Supras came standard with the 4 speed automatic transmission. The suspension is a four wheel independent system designed by "Lotus". With variable assist rack and pinion steering. The "P" cars came with the full fiberglass fender flares and rear hatch wing. Larger wheels and tires. Four wheel disc brakes. The 1983 Supras had a increase in engine power to 150 hp. These "P" type cars also came with 8 way performance "Recaro" style bucket seats. When these came out, it was Motor trends " Import car of the year" And also picked for "Car and drivers" Ten best.
This car is a rust free California car. The car was sold new from The Carlsbad , CA Toyota dealership. It has the $ 440.00 upgraded audio system that included a very cool built in graphic equalizer. The $ 460.00 power sunroof option was also ordered on the car. The original owner was very picky and very organized. The car comes with and incredible amount of documentation. Like non I've ever seen before. There is a booklet recording every time the car had fuel put in it. Every time the car was serviced. Receipts from the Toyota dealer for everything that was ever done to it. Its incredible. He really had a love for this car. And you would be hard pressed to find one more documented. The original window sticker from the factory is also included in the documentation.
The "Terra Cotta" paint on this car is an Iconic color for the Supra. The car in this color was used in all their national advertising and in all the car magazines. The " Terra Cotta" and gloss black is the best color combo that was offered. The car runs and drives fantastic. The engine pulls strong with no smoke or issues. Transmission shifts nice and smooth. The brakes are new front and rear and work perfect. The rack and pinion steering rack had a leak and was recently replaced. The car is now in the hands of a new "very picky "owner here in Michigan. Stored winters. Very few flaws on the exterior. The car has never had a complete repaint. Has some chips and a grocery cart scratch on the right side.
