Seller Description

1984 FLHTC Original SURVIVOR! This is the bike that saved Harley Davidson. I can deliver on an open trailer inside the lower 48 contiguous states for $500.00. The story of this bike starts with John who purchased the all-new for 1984 Electraglide classic. John loved this bike and it is clear that though it spent much of its life on the trailer or in the garage he cared for it like a part of the family. The fading on the rear left bag and bottom of the fender attest to much time sitting tail out in the garage. In 1991 he changed the tires for the very first time, In 1993 (according to service records) with just over 8k miles on the bike he had the bike serviced and the neutral switch replaced. In late 2019 just before his death, he sold the bike to Tom in non-running condition with that set of (DOT date coded) tires still on the bike showing near new tread life and 9369 miles on the clock. Tom replaced the original brake pads, had the carb rebuilt, fuel valve replaced, and the clutches replaced when he had the bike serviced. Tom also began the install of the updated XM Bluetooth stereo to replace the missing original CB radio. Three months later Tom sold the bike to me though I could tell it was difficult for him to let it go. I undertook to finish what Tom had started in getting the bike back in prime condition. The carb needed tuning, all the aluminum needed cleaning, and the chrome polished. I removed the old 90's pinstriping and lettering and buffed out the original lacquer paint. Somewhere during transport, Tom had the right side bag lid go airborne and bounce down the highway. I managed to source some original new in the can Harley base, topcoat, and clear from the '80s and repaired and resprayed the lid keeping the original hand striped pinstripe intact. I sourced some of the parts John had taken off and replaced over the years with original Harley NOS parts. This bike is preservation, not a restoration so while it is in incredible shape it is not perfect so please look at all the pics and ask questions. New tires, New clutch, Brake pads are new Rotors are original factory. I fact almost everything is as it came from the showroom floor. So what isn't as from the factory? The original ignition was upgraded at some point to a single fire Vtech system, the original CB was replaced with an upgrade to an XM/CD unit with Bluetooth, the rear shocks were upgraded to Showa 13" (stock length) units (original would have been air shocks notorious for leaking down), and a little added pinstriping to the fairing that is in great shape and was very well done. The original accessory dash with head temp gauges, oil pressure, and a clock, all functioning correctly. Original air adjustable front suspension is intact and working as intended.

Bike starts and runs well and has good compression. I changed to oil and went over the bike before riding it and have put on about 650 miles. The mileage listed (just over 10K) is current and may increase as I will be riding it now and then. This bike is not perfect but is a rare and significant piece of Harley Davidson history and is rarer because of its color, incredible near original state, and incredibly low mileage. Many of these bikes ended up stripped to create chopper projects in the '80s, '90s & 2000s. Some got loaded up with aftermarket accessory parts while the original parts were just thrown away, or where shipped oversea's when Harley fever hit Europe. So finding one in this near original condition is very hard and you never find one with this low original mileage. Please feel free to ask me any questions and I will respond as quickly as I can. 843 814 9770
