1984 XJS 3.6 5 speed manual.
The car features the all aluminium 3.6 litre
twin overhead cam, 24 valve, 225 b.h.p motor called the AJ6 motor. This motor
was developed by Jaguar to be a more economical alternative to the 5.3 litre V12
but still offer similar performance characteristics. The same motor was also
put into the xj40 saloon in 1987.
The AJ6 motor is capable of a top speed of 225kms per hour and it provide a fuel
consumption
of around 12 litres per 100kms.
This car is very reliable, It has excellent acceleration, handling and ride
quality and is mechanically
sound. Recently the front upper and lower ball joints were replaced.
XJS’s are a much sought after classic and continue to increase in value. They
were in production from 1975 until 1996 giving it the longest production run of
any Jaguar in history..
The car has a Getrag 265 5 speed manual gearbox which was also fitted to BMW’s,
Peugeot’s
and other model cars.
Parts of the seats have been repaired at some stage but there are no rips or
tears.
The car has 12 months registration.
I’m selling the car because my other Jaguar now needs some fairly extensive
repairs.
The car has done approx. 180,000 kilometres.
I am negotiable on the price.
The wheels shown in the photos are off my Series 3 XJ6 Jaguar.
The car originally came with the so called Pepperpot wheels which I still have.
The prospective buyer has a choice of buying the car with either the Pepperpot wheels,
the XJ6 wheels or with both sets.
I
have included a photo of an XJS with Pepperpot wheels so you can decide on which type you prefer.
