Used 1986 Harley-davidson FXR Used 1340L

My father bought this FXRD new in 1986. It was his pride and joy for 19 yrs and he rode it to many local bike meets. Willie G. Davidson was at one of the events and he signed the inside of the top box. I bought the FXRD from my father in 2005. I really enjoyed it and took some amazing trips; Chicago to the Pacific and back, Sturgis in 1998 and Harley's 100th birthday celebration!
The bike is in very good condition and it has 39.2k original miles. It is nearly stock including the original exhaust system and "Grand Touring Edition" air cleaner. It has the original VIN label on the frame and I have a clear title in hand. It has the original HD air suspension that allows you to increase or decrease pressure to match load. The tires and drive belt were replaced about 2k miles ago. The bike comes with a new HD OEM antenna which is shown in the photos with the grey background.

The bike is ready to ride. Just replaced the spark plugs, HD Grips and AGM battery as well as changed the oil and filter. The bike has been loved, well maintained and cared for as it has been a member of our family since it was new. The bags and locks are in great condition and the bike comes with two full sets of keys.
There are some nicks and scratches and some other minor imperfections from 34 yrs of use, but overall it is a very clean bike that runs and rides great. The fork legs and some other shiny parts could use some polishing. The tach is responding slowly. The rear fender and rear fender lip and bracket have minor surface rust as shown in the photo.
The bike comes with the original owner's manuals, an original HD factory service manual and a few spare parts including: original shorter wind screen, new OEM plastic headlight dome cover, mirrors, and some misc other spare parts. The radio turns on and makes some intermittent noises, but I believe it has a loose wire issue in the harness. Sold as is.
1986 was the only year for the FXRD and there were only 1000 made.

The FXRD has footboards, for both rider and passenger, a wider and more plush seat, trunk with backrest for the passenger, chrome rails for the saddlebags, two-into-one exhaust, special paint and graphics, more gauges, and a standard AM/FM/Cassette stereo with CB monitor with handlebar controls. The FXRD has dual front disc brakes with an anti-dive brake/suspension system. The FXRD is a sport-touring bike, with great handling, braking, ground clearance, has a very comfortable seating position and ride.
